Pakistan Navy test fires new Harba cruise missile from PNS Himmat Pakistan

So as the saying goes, in October 2015 somewhere in Caspian Sea, Russia ships fired Kalibr cruise missiles which flew all the way and hit targets in Syria. So here is the big deal - these ships were led by Gepard-class frigate Dagestan 1900 tons, the rest of the fleet consisted of tiny 950-ton Buyan-M-class corvettes. All fired Kalibr missiles. So these tiny corvettes had the capability of firing missiles which are usually on MUCH LARGER ships. In fact only the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and Ticonderoga-class missile cruisers of the USN have this capability of firing long range tomohawks.

So Russia demonstrated a new naval warfare philosophy. Chinese seem to agree.

And now it looks like Pakistan Navy agrees as well. Imagine dozens of Corvettes and smaller 900 tons ships carrying long range strike missiles with nuclear capability taking out the entire Carrier Fleet?

Good work PN.

That will lead India to test and we don't want that... caz their previous h bomb failed

:omghaha:
You do realize that the research group which claims that India N-test yields were lower than started figures given by Indian gov't also said the Exact same thing about Pakistani N-tests i.e. their actual yields were much lower than the figures stated by Pakistani gov't.

. . .
All those saying Pakistan tested a C-602 should know that none of C series missile air intake is retractable. It's permanently protruding out even when missile in stowed position.
The missile PN tested has clearly retractable air intake.

.
Point to be noted. The launch is literally sea hugging. When fired over the horizon, the flash and smoke trail would not be evident to surface warships. Of course, aerial and space assets could detect it, but the FAC is not going to stay in the same place after firing. This means bad news for Indian ships in littoral waters.

On the other hand, given such a depressed initial trajectory, what would be the impact of rough weather and high sea?

@The Deterrent @Dazzler @Rashid Mahmood

Congrats to all Pakistani's :pakistan:

At the range these CMs are fired, flash is not visible anyway.
The smoke trail also ends when the air breathing engine takes over, so we don't have to worry about that.

The height of the missile is continually adjusted during its flight path.

The best part is that these CMs are fitted on FACMs, which are not detectable at long ranges and are highly agile as compered to larger vessels.

6 CMs on board makes it a pretty loaded vessel.

Hmmm Congrats to nation and Pak Navy and all who put efforts in developing HARBA cruise missile.

Carrier fleet move in a radius of 100km with the main carrier at the centre and defenders at the periphery so that air strike, submarine strikes or missiles are first detected and intercepted by the outer ring ships. So, fleet can't e taken out with a nuclear bomb. A single hit by a large warhead can indeed take out most ships even if it is not nuclear tipped.

An air burst can take out the electronics of the CBG.
Rest is easy.

Just a simple question.
What is the range of this missile and what is the speed? And how many missiles were fired today? I believe there were more than one missiles fired. Because first everybody is standing outside with gaggles on the eyes witnessing the launch and a few seconds later, everyone was seated comfortably inside watching the impact on screen. Clearly, more than one missile was fired.

The clip released to the media is always created to send the message across and confuse the viewers.
This is classified information, so don't believe that all the clips are connected.

have a good look at air intake. It's entirely different from Babur series. It's the Russian style "Cutout" air intake, similar to what Indians use on Nirbhay. For that reason my guess is it's a new missile not just another version of Babur.

Missile boats are common concepts. Was used in 1971 war by India. The idea is to launch missiles without endangering expensive assets. Missile boats are in the range of 1000 tons and can carry missiles in the range of 10 and are manufactured for low cost. These have little air defence as that adds to expense and size.

USA uses warships mainly to project power and uses carriers extensively. In fact, the second biggest airforce in the world after USAF is US navy. Let us not take USA as a benchmark. India, Pakistan, Russia, China, France use missile boats. I am sure many other navies use them too.

AGain, you are overestimating nukes. Electronics will be fried only in case of hollywood movies, not real life. In fact, US carriers are built to be protected against direct hit of tactical nukes. Don't underestimate carrier fleets. It may be convenient to simply say that nuclear bomb will solve all problems. But, that is not the case. The technology and research actually matters.

I never talked about US CBG's.
My comment's are not based on hollywood movies.
enough said.

Wouldn't PN have a network centric fleet by now? It's 2018...I would assume PN would've worked on some sort of solution where the data is shared, to paint a massive picture of the battlefield, by all the multiple assets/platforms like ground based radars, AWACS, naval jets, ships, helicopters, P3C Orions, etc.
@Quwa this post was meant more of as a query. I was hoping u could shed more light on the subject whether PN has developed a network centric command and control or not?
