apart from scorpian i highly doubt any thing else is going to come till 2030 in attack submarine catergery
for SSBN indian might get 1-2 but may return akhula class back till 2030

india might will probably retire the some HDW and some kilo class, as your own words"they would be metal rust bucket" as they will 40+ years old by 2030
so unless india gets its house in order and accelrate procurement process it might end up with around 10-15 subs vs 11 subs in PN
i am optimistic that india will procure more and delay current retirement plans to keep around 15 subs

At the moment PN must concentrate that they get the 8 subs on time and with as many as possible produced indigenously. Pak must take this opportunity and try to turn it into another JF-17 thunder like project which can act as a launching pad for our future indigenous projects. We have previously built the last Augosta 90 in Pakistan so its not like that we lack the capability.

This time it will be better with the Chinese, since they will provide Pakistan with much ToT unlike France who won't give the MESMA technology.. Hence, in the future Pakistan will be able to build its own SSK, if not any kind of submarines, since the Chinese ToT will be of the most advanced in its kind in the world. it is like getting to know how to build the German type 214 or better, it is a huge leap from the Agosta..

Yes they should but at the moment they seemed to be satisfied with the Mirage Vs and JF-17 they have. However if you see the adversary unfortunately our naval air arm wont stand a chance against theirs keeping in mind our coastal areas have minimal air defence.
