Pakistan Navy seeking new jet power maritime patrol aircraft MPA

@Bilal Khan (Quwa) how would Sword fish from Sweden fits here ?
The Swordfish is a COTS-driven solution. The radar, EO/IR and MAD are all from third-party sources (with whom Pakistan is already dealing with via the ATR-72 MPA). The aircraft is from Canada's Bombardier. Basically, the only things Saab can withhold are its CMS, AShM and ASW torpedoes (all of which can be replaced). Anyways, Saab has been a willing supplier in some areas (e.g. Erieye AEW&C), so its willingness is not the issue.

Of the options available, the Bombardier Global 6000-based Swordfish is the only jet-powered MPA solution which has undergone studies, design, integration, etc and is ready to be implemented. Others, such as the A319 solution, are conceptual right now and will likely end-up costing as much as the P-8 Poseidon.

In 2017 Saab said the Swordfish has 2/3 the upfront cost of the P-8A and 1/2 the lifecycle support costs. Based on South Korea's P-8A deal, that would make each Swordfish ~$90 m to procure and $110 m to maintain it over the long-run. So $200 m ea. (all-in) vs. the P-8A's $350 m.

PN really seems to be gearing up - leaving PA and PAF behind when it comes to large acquisitions. Now, if only they could also get their hands on a squadron of fighter jets for AA and AShM roles

How about Chinese Comac C919 or ARJ21 conversion into MPA?

Hi I don’t understand if china is quite satisfied with their MPA in terms of y-9 though they have
A vast territory to manage why are we after a fast jet kind of MPA
Can’t we manage it with y-9 like something
Any senior memeber can shed some light on it
Thank you

What about Kawasaki P1?
It'd be a dark horse candidate at best. But I expect both Japan and China will be uneasy, e.g. a Japanese MPA operating with Chinese submarines, and Chinese submarines operating with a Japanese MPA. They could replace each of the P1's sensors with COTS solutions (like the ones used on the ATR-72), but then we're looking at extra costs and design work, and the PN seems to be avoiding those.

The PN would probably pick a solution that's ready to go, i.e. not in need of studies, design work, etc.

Airbus has a MPA in the market, SAAB has the swordfish and TAI was marketing something as well.
As such it is about the airframe being capable of adopting itself. Otherwise sensor fits are available from many countries.
If given a fit SELEX could take Ex-Shaheen A320’s and turn them into MPA’s with Leonardo’s airframe division.

Swordfish will be the best option for PN , a bang for the buck $
