Pakistan navy sail ship “RAH NAWARD” arrives in France

Are you guys kidding????

This is an awesome sailing ship! Navies all over the world have sailing ships as training vessels! It's not a fighting ship folks...
Here's the INS Tarangini.....similar role.
Beautiful vessel.

Is this ship for the Navy when they need to go for grocery shopping? Useless piece of junk.
This is Sail ship, its intention is to promote peace and friendship across the world. It is also used to train young sailors, You get to know what it takes to become a true sailor. It is sensible move by the Pakistan Navy to have one, it helps to promote PN.

pakistani ship looks cool but its name sound like "raha namard"... muslim language is funny. what does that means

These ships are magnificent. They are used primarily for teamwork development with cadets aged 18 to 22, but along with teamwork and command structure development, when you sail, you learn more about navigation, winds, tide, and weather, far more than cruising along in air conditioning on a destroyer.

The USS Constitution is considered a national treasure. It took part in sea battles in the war of 1812, and is still on the roll as an active Navy ship:

The U.S. Coast Guard has a training ship as well, although it is steel-hulled and more modern than the Constitution:

Indeed that is true, the first thing that a cadet/sailor learns on these ships is Seamanship, starting from walking a "seaman's gait" on a rolling and pitching deck. Just walking on deck is very different from walking on terra firma. Then imagine clambering up to the cross-yards on the masts by ratlines (rope ladders) in the same conditions to furl or unfurl the sails in buffeting winds and pelting rain. It is a test of team-work and tremendous co-ordination to say the least. Seamanship actually helps a sailor to understand and imbibe the rules of survival. These ships are invaluable for the purpose.

In comparison punching buttons and monitoring multiple displays in a CIC/Citadel of a modern warship is a chicken-sh** activity.

it is a training ship genius...
what do you expect, training on an aegis cruiser??

Seriously, whats wrong with people in this forum, Praising JF-17 like it can dance circles around F-22 and F-35 , thinking pakistan should replace F-16's with F-35's by 2020,

next thing you know, some genius will start a thread saying we should buy USS Enterprise once America decommissions it in 2013!!!

My God!!!:coffee:

good one

is this ship is newly aquired i dont think so as it is written in article as indian navy once in a year send their these type of ship to every country why all those year PN never did this
