Here are the two on surface. Kilo class sail is quite large as compared to Scorpene.

Kilo class.
Snorkel, optronics and the 2 periscopes in the front. All widely spaced.

Scorpene. 3 mast closely spaced to each other. Obviously they are deployed independently

I would say an uncompromised Indo-Russian Kilo is better than a compromised Indo-French Scorpene.

I thought that only Commander of that Sub was idiot but by reading into your posts, while Indian Defence is like that. Who the hell ever sails a compromised strategic weapon such as Submarine, into or near enemy territory. Even US can't afford such a luxury to check Russia's response time or China. Earlier, French Data wasn't related to IN Sub and now continuous copy pasting of same wording that French compromised it already. I think not just french but everyone rightly understood India being that stupid that will buy and still operate strategical items like Sub. Your types have real guts to cover everything. A slow 👏.
Why the Indian sub will open ititself to periscope depth during the day close to an adversary's waters ??

If you are interested to learn really, replace why with How?

Someone needed to spray depth chargers around this once it entered into your territorial waters. After that, either it would turn and leave damaged or would surface up with white flags on it "seeking help to rescue crew". Why the love when the other side is roasting you from media to individual personnel levels to militarily?
I say bait it...act like it didn't get detected...while track it the whole time...let it enter territorial waters...then deploy depth charges all around...and establish contact...threaten to torpedo it if it doesn't surface. Capture the submarine and the crew in Pakistani waters...and film the whole thing and publicize it. This will embarrass them enough not to try anything for a long while...
...and give Pakistan a chance to study the sub in detail.

Methods exist - a practiced one is to do a direct flyover at 100ft (usually done at times to confirm a submarine with the magnetic anomaly detector) so that the submarine’s sonar officer goes deaf with the sound of 4 turboprop engines and his captain has no choice but to get out of there.

Because if that is not heeded the IN does have trained crews that know the next thing coming is a torpedo.

In theory, Pakistan could torpedo that sub and have it sink and claim no knowledge of the incident regardless of the Indians crying foul. Because they would have to then admit they were trespassing which would reduce the merit of their usual sanctimonious hypocrisy.

Should have sunk it and send the message straight up. If this was the other way around you and I know for sure without a doubt the Indians would’ve torpedoed it and everyone in the chain of command would have a manhoos looking face and not able to do much.

As @PanzerKiel was making a comparison between a fighter and submarine. With all due respect to him no matter if it’s a million or billion, that’s not a good way to look at things. If a threat is there and violates terms you blow it up. Start acting like an Israeli and it’ll prevent others from lifting their eyes.

The aspect of still making sure it falls well into the domain of Pakistani EEZ is important. In some ways, they could have let the sub get further in and then sent torpedoes towards it but at this point they are probing defenses likely for a future operation (perhaps a small scale SOF insertion to purportedly get the former Mumbai don.. just saying @Blacklight ) or maybe they want to try and bottle up PN or lay mines ala Ghazi’s actions.

Either way, I think they have been able to get their Akula in and out once but nothing as deep or close. The United States has from 1992 onwards parked their subs right within Pakistani EEZs with abandon especially the Ohio SSGN during OEF and later reports of subs loitering around during May 2011- Salala

If it was with consent no problem but if the US acted irrationally and parked it, their are millions of ways of blowing it up and making it look like an accident. Military needs to learn how to lay the bait. But time and time again it disappoints me greatly.

Even Operation Swift Retort should've shot down all Indian jets that was possible; you exert maximum pressure. If their was fear of it turning into a shooting match might as well have not even bothered with the operation to begin with. If I acted like the Pak Military, my competitor last year wouldn't be in the homeless shelter with his wife and kids, in his place it would've been me. Often times you need to be in a shooting match to reap its rewards.

In this case, we shall pray that Indian navy intrude more and more.... this will refine the signature data, which will help us even more in ''future missions'' :hitwall:
yes why not on peace time ? they will not harm us but its will help us to keep them in track . its same like locking on a fighter jet while other side can not fire missile .
