Pakistan gifted the historic lead ship PNS TARIQ to the United Kingdom as a goodwill gesture. The Transfer Agreement Signing Ceremony took place at the Pakistan High Commission in London and was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi and former First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff of the Royal British Navy, Admiral Lord Alan West.

The ex-PNS TARIQ was decommissioned by the Pakistan Navy in August 2023 and will be converted into a floating museum by the UK-based firm Falls of Clyde International. It will be on display at the Clyde Maritime Heritage Centre in Glasgow as a symbol of the shared naval heritage of the Royal and Pakistan navies.

Turkey has handed

over a Babur-class corvette to the Pakistan Navy and launched two brand-new Hisar-class offshore patrol vehicles (OPVs) for the Turkish Naval Forces. The events were held in a launch ceremony at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard, led by Turkey’s Ministry of National Defense and state-owned ship manufacturer ASFAT Inc. The Babur-class corvette and Hisar-class OPVs were delivered as part of the MILGEM Project, a warship development program that aims to develop multipurpose seacraft for both nations.
