Pakistan may study other fighter options as US asks Pakistan to make full payment for F-16 purchase

Pakistan should take more soft loans from china and buy already 100j10 and j20!!!

I still prefer J-11D or SU-35. Pakistan should try to go for SU-35 otherwise ask China to put pressure on Russia and get permission to sell us J-11D and J-16.

Brother J11s will come , The alliance of USA and India will force China and also pi$$ off Russia, we just have to wait for that time , not to far , we will see that happing in next 5years ,if PAF don't miss that chance or fck up or screw the nation again (For there Love of F16).
J11 will fulfil our need for heavy 4.5++ , and if we go for J10 also (that I say we most) that will be our single engine long lags 4++ interceptor and bomber (kind of Multirole ).
Thank you.

what's the price of su-35 and typhoon??any idea?
For Jet alone or Ammunition it depends upon many things ,but to give you idea there was news back a month that Pak has ordered 6 SU35 for 500 Mil US$ .For Typhon it is priced near to Rafale so you can imagine recent deals are concluded around 8-10 Billion US$ for 36 jets

Pakistan has threatened to buy advanced Russian or Chinese combat jets after Washington withdrew financing for a US arms purchase amid a weakening of its strategic relationship with Islamabad.

“If funding is arranged, Pakistan will get the F16,” said Sartaj Aziz, foreign affairs adviser to Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistani prime minister. “Otherwise, we will opt for jets from some other place.

The Pakistan Air Force is looking at other options including the Russian SU35, the Chinese J10 and the Chinese J20 stealth fighter, according to a senior foreign ministry official.

The US and Pakistan have long had close ties and jointly supported the Taliban rebels who drove Soviet invaders out of Afghanistan in 1989. But the 9/11 terror attacks, masterminded by al-Qaeda from Afghan soil, ushered in a more complex period in which US forces helped overthrow the Taliban regime. The US continues to fight the group’s militants while Pakistan gives them haven.

Washington is also upset by Pakistan’s support for other Islamist terror organisations, while President Barack Obama has said Islamabad is moving “in the wrong direction” by adopting battlefield atomic weapons that increase the risk of a nuclear conflict with India.

Although the US has not cancelled the sale of the eight additional F16s for $700m, it has withdrawn the offer of US credit for the contract because members of Congress from both main parties are demanding what one called “behavioural changes” from Pakistan so that it stops supporting terrorism.

'Threatened' is not the right word here. It is upto US how they decide to spend their finances. Their money, their choice and that choice should be respected. Similarly Pakistan has every right to make its choices. Those choices must be respected. We are threatening no one. We are just making choices what we consider best in our interest just like US is doing.

Well to be fair, the news is carried by the well reputed Financial Times and in all earnest they should know what and how they are reporting.

This news is just a pressure stunt.
Nothing else.
Those who wanted F16 are of course angry, but those whose commission & "kick back" earning is on the line are even more up set.

Pakistan was looking for these 8 F-16 for a instant addition .. and lets hope US keep them , but our other options are EFT and Su-35's both will take another 2-3 year minimum before we get the first unit , the only bird we can get on short notice and ready to bomb the Taliban hideout in FATA will be J-10's , buying less than 50 will not be a fine idea unless J-10 can be supported by the same facility we use for JF's ..
Su-35 or EFT will take time and if any of the country ready to offer soft terms , so in 2-3 year by the time we get our birds we might have Cash to pay off ..

lets hope the Corrupt Generals in PAF , will not fcuked everything now .. its golden Opportunity to move away from Sanction prone F-16's

American can think or say whatever they want, however , there are many instances where Indian RAW agents have defected to America for the promise of better future. There was one just recently. You want me to send you some links?

Nothing personal here. Just watch your words carefully as they may come to bite on your backside.
The topic here has nothing to do with India or RAW.
You made a post stating America needs to sell you F16 to influence you and my post was in response to that.
Calm down and read before you reply

Agree. Had this hunch that something was not right about this deal for only 8 F16s. I would say NAB need to investigate this matter. Pakistan good name cannot be allowed to dragged by some lousy congressmen unless and until there is some desperation within high ups of PAF to get these F16s and mint some $$ as kick backs.

Guys keep in mind that it was US which offered the 8 aircraft for sale just like the news of SU-35 came from Russian MOD.
