Pakistan Issues Tender for Radoms for TPS-77 MRR and YLC-18A : QUWA

YLC-18 Radar

This is a two-vehicle convoy, high mobility, medium-range, low-altitude 3D radar announced by CETC in June 2007 at Singapore.

The reported system features are excellent low-altitude performance with high measurement accuracy, strong ECCM capability.

Specifications:
Operating frequency: EF-band
Coverage: (Pd = 80%, RCS = 2m2)
Range: ≥ 250km
Height: ≥ 12,000m
Elevation: 0º ~ 35º
Azimuth: 0º ~ 360º

Its detection range suggest instantaneous PRF of 600pps thus operational PRF of approx 400 is suspected.

Measurement accuracy: (rms)
Azimuth: ≤ 0.3º
Range: ≤ 100m
Height: ≤ 600m (within 200km)
Assembly/disassembly: 20mins/4 persons
MTBCF: ≥ 1,000 hrs
MTTR: ≤ 30 mins

In view of its 3D capability and potential to control aircraft and surface-to-air weapons, its likely frequency cover is shown, which is within the ITU regulated bands

Do we have TPS -77 or TPS-77 MRR??? What is the difference between them and how many do we have???
We have AN/TPS-77. Not sure what to make of the TPS-77 MRR stuff though, there's always that chance the PAF is talking about the AN/TPS-77. But then again, the tender also mentioned the YLC-18A, a newly ordered radar, so it can go either way.

Just to eliminate confusion of all the members here. TPS-77 is a high level radar that Pakistan purchased in previous decade . TPS-77 MRR is a low level radar that @Bilal Khan 777 is hinting for past 2-3 years that Pakistan is looking for and had very limited options to buy from and as per him Pakistan looked into Lockheed Martin radars and found it excellent but couldn't buy it 2-3 years ago due to Political constraints

@Tps43 last year disclosed that Pakistan is going to buy TPS-77 MRR in Khafee leaks thread to replace Low level radar coverage

TPS-77 MRR is an excellent radar which will plug lot of low level radar coverage gap that Pakistan faces as of now because existing LLR are prone to jamming and obsolete i.e Siemen radars. So YLC-18 and TPS-77 MRR will form the new Low Level Radar coverage for Pakistan in this coming decade.

if TPS-77 MRR is coming then save to say, Hope for BLOCK-70 and AH-1Z are still alive

With YLC-18 and TPS-77 MRR, it also shows that the PAF is building a diverse low-level coverage with redundancies. IIRC, YLC-18A is an E/F band radar, while TPS-77 MRR is a D/L band radar. Is it possible the PAF is actually covering multiple frequencies and OEM sources at low level? Remember, there are multiple OEMs offering these radars on the market, from the Americans and Chinese to the Germans, Swedes, British/Italians and even Turks.

But why such interest in low level?

Only six are too less number. 2nd we did not cash USA properly
At least Musharraf cashed it for the country not himself.
And six radars of 470 km range are enough for Pakistan.

In MoDP Yearbook 2017-18, purchase of 10× Low level radars worth US$ 130 million was reported in addition to 5× YLC-18As (US$ 25 million).

Apparently, there was no DSCA notification for the Latvian TPS-77 MRR order, so this appears material that can be slipped past the Congress.

Do you know the price of the previous purchase of TPS-77???

Do we have money to buy on cash? IF they change their mind and sell now. Our economy is much more in trouble than theirs, I think GOP will divert the funds to health sector now.
