We should invest in Pakistan heavily - this is true. Both nations would benefit immensely. However, no investment should be done in the context of CPEC; no Turkish money should be spent to strengthen China, not even indirectly.

Having said that, it's our duty to support Pakistan. I love them. The Turkish government has to support them. Trade is very relevant for both nations. Why not give Pakistan a bigger market share in Turkey? The currently negotiated FTA could be used to provide Pakistan a better access to the Turkish market.

Pakistan deserves it. They are more than just an ally.

Well lets not say "Pakistan deserves it", but it is just that the more efficiency increases, the better we will be off. And more international trade does just that.

I also find it hilarious that only the islamist/AKPian Turkish members here oppose more trade with Pakistan

Should we remind you guys that we are the first country out there to need some economic help right now?? Inflation is over 25% and may keep rising, unemployment is still at record highs and the economy is contracting all at the same time.

CPEC is more centered on energy through Hormoez and trans European trade through Suez.

Myanmar route is China's bid to bypass the straight of Malakka.

But you got loan from China and will pay it back with interest. That's DIRECTLY making China stronger.



Soon there will be Myanmar (a bit further), as well, as the port agreement has been signed and the associated rail and highway routes will be quickly built.

That will provide another short route to China for import and export.

In my opinion, CPEC and CMEC will complement each other.

CPEC will serve Western China while CMEC will serve Souther China.

personally i have observed if there are two countries upon which pakistani people have a blind trust then those are China and Turkey. incase of Turkey our national language of pakistan "Urdu" is named by Turks, Pakistani flag is one of the flag of two flags of otman empire one is red ... which turkey flag .. one is green which is pakistani flag

both are sunni dominant countries and list goes on ... if Pak Turk relations survived through centuries... i am sure both will survive through current economic crises too .. so no worry chill

The green flag in the Ottoman coat of arms has three crescents and no stars. Pakistani flag is different, with a crescent and a star. They are not same.
