Pakistan Inducts BVR Missile H-4

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force has inducted H-4 Beyond Visual Range missile which could strike a target from a distance of 120+ km without visually citing it, evading enemy radars ehm ehm STEALTH.

"It is a step towards adding the Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missiles to our arsenal for defensive purposes and to address the strategic imbalance in the region," Pakistan daily Dawn quoted PAF officials as saying

"Three successful tests of H-4, with the latest conducted this year, produced satisfactory results leading to addition of arsenal in the fighter jets," they said, adding the missiles were modified version of the South African T-Darter BVR missiles. The PAF claims to have H-2 BVR missiles which could hit targets up to 60 km.



It would be fitted on to the PAF's Mirage aircraft until the induction of new plane JF-17 Thunder, jointly developed by Pakistan and China, in 2006.

Whats even more interesting is our F16 are all getting BVR as well 500 plus

It's an A2G, thats why its fitted on to the Mirages who have a deep strike role

Yeah there's a lot confusion, I've also heard the Raad be called the H4 Raad.

Its a AIR to AIR weapon to counter Phalcon/Indian airforce 120km range - for JF17 Thunder / Mirage platform

You don't need BVR for ground targets - as you can just fly high and hit the target

These are the ones we got for our F16 from US another 500+

So we have 1000+ BVR missiles enough to dent any airforce

Yes this a old post i just checked it. Above posts provide more useful info regarding PAF's BVR capability. As per PShamim PAF has a program named "Crescent Arrow" for its BVR Arsenal

Its quite an old news...they were inducted far back in 2003/04

it is not BVRAAM it is just a long range glide Bomb for ground attack roles..
