india needs to increase its BVR capacity to match the PAF airpower in the region. Good to see india going in right direction...
Daddy is always a daddy,we are operating BVR since early 90s with Matra Super 530 to R77M .:azn: Now we replacing them with our own BVRAAM - Astra Mk1(44Km range) and Astra Mk2(110Km range).
And thing about matching PAF airpower :woot:,it should be vice versa. You guys are cheering for Mi35:D Which we are replacing after 30 years of glorious service with Apaches and LCH.:cheesy:

RVV-AE(more than 2000 pcs) has range of 150 Kms( in head on) better than Aim-120 C-5(500 pcs) 105 Km..yes Aim 120 C-5 has much better ECCM capabilities on the account of being much more recently developed.
Not only that, the kill-zone for AIM-120 C so far is the highest among any other missile. Range in BVR doesn't matter as much if the difference between two platforms is 10-20 percent specifically in case of the India-Pakistan anyway. Ideal targeting rang for a BVR is around 60-70%. The issue is, the BVR bleeds a lot of energy at different altitudes and conditions. The last thing you want it to do is to meet your enemy finally and have no energy left to chase after a highly maneuverable target
