I am hoping that this series will be an eye opener for all fans of Yousuf and Misbah. There is a dfifference in getting runs at dead picthes in South East Asia and getting runs at pitches like Austrailia and NZL.

Shoaib Malik is out of the test team and hopefully Misbah will follow suit.

There are batsmen like Younis Khan, Yasir Hameed, Asim Kamal and others who can actually bat at pitches like the ones in Austrailia and NZL.

Big shock!!!!!!!!!!!

Mohammad Sami recalled for tour of Australia

Mohammad Sami's international career has been revived after he was added to Pakistan's 16-man Test squad against Australia following the team management's request for an extra fast bowler. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Sami was recalled after the need for additional support to a fast-bowling contingent comprising Umar Gul, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer and Abdur Rauf was raised.

Gul, Asif and Aamer played in all three matches of the tied Test series and have little time off ahead of the series in Australia, which begins with a three-day tour match against Hobart from December 19. The first Test starts on Boxing Day at the MCG.

"I am very happy and am confident of making the most of this chance to resurrect my career," said Sami, who returned to Pakistan's domestic fold after cutting ties with the now defunct ICL.

Sami, 28, played the last of his 33, largely unfulfilling Tests in December 2007 against India after he had drifted to the sidelines of Pakistan's Test attack. Those three Tests in India yielded just four wickets and he was again discarded to return to the domestic circuit. But he has picked up 30 wickets so far this season while captaining Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Group B toppers Karachi Whites, with three five-wicket bags.

There are other fast bowlers with better returns for the current first-class season, such as young Mohammad Talha, and those who have played limited-overs cricket for Pakistan this year, like Sohail Khan, but Sami's experience of playing international cricket, and two Tests in Australia, appeared to have worked in his favour.

Sami has taken 81 wickets in 33 Tests, and 118 in 83 ODIs.

Apart from three Tests, Pakistan will play five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 on the tour.

When are we going to get rid of this nonsense?

First Yousuf requests for Misbah and now for Sami!!

LMAO, Younis is the best captain. Yousuf and co will continue to bring failed and crap seniors. :)

Don't be so quick to judge man. Mohammad Sami showed some talent when he first arrived, I remember very well. I was one of the people asking for his head after the ODI World Cup, but when you think about it, he never really had any supporting bowlers at the time of the quality he will have available to him this time around.

I think that an Aamer, Gul, Asif and Sami attack will be ferocious (we can never play all four in one match), backed up by the spin of Kaneria and maybe, just maybe, Shahid Afridi or Shoaib Malik. I say Afridi or Malik because our tail is extremely long, from wicket number 6 we're into the tail. We need to rectify that, maybe at the expense of one specialist bowler for an all-rounder. The only all-rounders we have are Afridi, Malik and Abdur Razzaq.

The Pitches in Australia are pacy

So Sami is the Best Choice as we dont have any Pacy Bowler ..

do we have any other ??

Because Shoaib is old & suffering with Sexual STD's

We are forgetting another bowler who should have been there in place of Sami and that is Sohail Tanveer.

Sohail Tanvit a Twenty-20 or death-ODI bowler. He bowls straight-forwardly, and very accurately, but he is not a big swinger of the ball and isn't as crafty as, say, Mohammad Asif. Of course, Mohammad Sami isn't very crafty either, but he can swing, he can bounce and he has pace. Mohammad Aamer probably has the best combibation of all, speed, bounce, craft, aggression, and a very smart way of going about his bowling. He's probably the best fast-bowling talent to have been discovered by Pakistan since the retirement of the Ws, with all due respect to Asif, Gul, Tanvir, Akhtar, and company.

The Australian batting line-up is not as fragile as New Zealand's, and they are used to playing on their home ground. It is going to be very difficult to go in with a young and mentally questionable bowling attack and perform well. The slack will have to be picked up by our batting department, something that seems nearly impossible. This is why I am all for giving Shoaib Malik another shot, he is, at least on paper, an all-rounder. Starting from Aamer who can defend the ball, then Gul, then Kaneria, and then Asif, we have a tail that is longer than the Indus river. We can't possibly hope to score decent amounts of runs with this tail, leaving our bowlers with an agonizing amount of work to do. All this despite the fact that these are the only four bowlers we have. We are in dire needs of all-reounders. If we could, somehow, bat down to number 7 or 8, we might have a shot at posting competitive scores, and hence we might have a chance of winning the series.

Our bowling can match their bowling, I have little doubt. It's the batting that we need to re-inforce, hopefully not at the expense of the bowlers. If not Malik, then at the very least, Afridi or Razzaq should be taken along. I think Afridi has matured enough to understand the requirements of Test cricket. He is, after all, the captain of our T20 side.

There are many bowlers besides Sami but it is our gandee siyasat which Yousf bhai is using to bring Sami on board.

Why not try the young guns in current doemstic circuit like Mohammed Talha and others?

i am going to predict the result

ODI australia 5-0

TEST australia 2-0(one match drawned, not because of pakistan's good performance but rain)

20/20 australia-pakistan 1-1

Yaar Afridi has capt. only a few T-20 and he still need to prove himself before the ODI captaincy.

First he needs to prove that he is mature player in ODI.not like just to make fans happy, come to ground and hit first ball into the air and then into fielders hand,if this kind of captain will be there, then whoz gonna expect from our team to win when the captain is irresponsible

damn .. the wrath that strikes the team touring down under. Its so freakin hard to defeat them even with their weakened squad.
