Pakistan helped US get Osama, insists Hersh

if you think US can just march in 100 KM inside Pakistan without the knowledge of our air defense then you are a fool

well we did :p: stealth helicopter flying below tree top level was just too much for your air surveillance system.

You should watch Fury. It is very close to real-life experiences of the American soldiers during WW2 inside German territory during 1945.
Maybe you're right about those experiences but it's another Saving private ryan type movie imo

Well, Saving Private Ryan was realistically done as well. Its a masterpiece regardless of it being true operation or not.

oh really!, shows how little you know about US military adventures...the only true operation is a fiction for you, yet an almost fictional Osama operation is a testament to superior US tech.

To be fair, the "Real" Saving Private Ryan - The surviving Niland Brother were never rescue in the manner portrayed in the film, he had came by and visit his brother unit in France and was hushed up by the Army and send back to the US. There are no operation involved to locate and retrieve Fritz Niland from France.

It would not have been a movie if it's about how "Private Ryan" wait for the paperwork to come thru while spending day after days in the rear echelon area...

thats why I said there were only two successful operations, Saving Private Ryan and Killing Osama Ladin

do you know where operation took place, every house has an anti aircraft. flying low is much more dangerous than being seen by radar

The only major firefight between the US and Pakistani troops that I recall is the Salala incident that took place months after Operation Neptune Spear.

there was no fight, Allied (means US) forces knew about all Pakistani check post,, the information was given by Pakistan Army to avoid confrontation (gullible as they are), and US returned the favor as they always do to their allies since they knew there isnt much fire power on those check posts (which is always the case with US operations)

You need to work on your reading comprehension.
How about you elaborate your 'point of contention' more clearly? What exactly do you find questionable about the Operation Neptune Spear?

24 Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat during this [2 hour long] firefight and you are telling me that there was no fight between the two sides during Salala incident? It's the bloodiest incident on the Afghan front for us where the opponent was US military itself.

And those were FOBs, not mere check posts. Pakistan army was conducting a military operation against terrorists in those areas.

.

Usually, you would not heard of any detail regarding any covert operation if they succeed, you only ever hear about failed operation.

But then, of course there are some high profile successful operations, like the capture of Saddam Hussein, or the recovery of Jessica Lynch

Indeed.

People fail to realize that if a helicopter-related incident had not occurred, Operation Neptune Spear would have been like one of those ghost operations [for the public] more or less.

yes there was no fight thats why 24 Pakistani soldiers died, they did not even have anti aircraft firepower...they were basically butchered. how many US soldiers died in that incident tell me. There was no operation going on at that time so they were just the check posts, soldiers were sleeping and 2 were on guard

You don't know the whole story. A major firefight took place over there; it lasted 2 hours. Pakistan Army had fielded Anti-Aircraft guns in those FOBs (exact quantity not known) but American 'precision strikes' hampered effective coordination during the firefight.

US army did not raid the FOBs directly; they fired from a distance. Two Apache Gunships were involved in the raid however.

yes I know no US soldier were involved in the raid, they had the coordinates given by Pakistan army about all their check posts, they were not expecting any air raid since Taliban do not have air power only our friend did who also knew the co-ordinates for precision strikes...but they did not know Pakistani will take revenge and they did but just as cowardly as it was done to them

Not surprised. @Bilad al-Haramayn how do you explain this?

“The Pakistani intelligence picked him (bin Laden) in the Hindu Kush area, built the compound in Abbottabad and put him there,” he said. “Pakistani officials did so because the Saudis asked them to. The Saudis did not want Americans to interrogate OBL.”
