1. Then why are there ads on NDTV India asking the public to donate charity for treatment of the blind in the country ?
2. Why does exist organizations like Ketto which collect crowdsourced money for treatment of named cases for cancers, kidney ailments etc ? Where is the government ? Should these patients die because they don't have the 10 lakhs to 60 lakhs to even 1+ crore in a case as treatment fees ?
3. Why does exist the ridiculous health insurance system, private or otherwise ?
4. What about those families, including from the middle class, including for COVID, who have gone into economic stress resulting from the treatment of even one family member ?
If someone makes a study of this Ayushman Bharat scheme they can think up of other wrongs in it. For example, quoting your posted article :
1. What about the remainder 900 million Indians ? Should they be left to the profit-demanding private hospitals and insurance companies ?
2. What if in a family more than one member has health issues ?
3. What if the cost of the treatment ( of even one member ) is more than 500,000 rupees ?
Why can't healthcare in India be free and universal ?
