Pakistan has agreed to give Afghanistan trade access to India

Only if it was that simple then we wouldnt have fought 3 wars over a piece of land. Taxing is not enough and i doubt mere taxing can generate billions of dollar that we are going to get with transit trade agreement through afghanistan. Unfortunately at least in short and medium term there wont be any compensation given to india in terms of transit trade. As for peace it is not as easy as every one makes it sound. If it was that easy then we wouldnt hae fought so many wars over a piece of land. I dont see any hope of peace at least in short or medium term but who knows in long term a miracle might occur. A common enemy which both countries hate more than each other will do the job
See thats the problem we dont have trust at all.yea its true we faught 3 or 4 battles in past over a piece of land.but is it necessary to keep fighting?. There must be a way to end this and sooner or later it will be solved. But till then inspite of cursing each other we can treat each other like good neighbours and try to make things right.

Why do the Afghans need their trucks to go through Pakistan to get to india? Didn't the indians claim recently that they have other more viable and efficient ways to get to Afghanistan bypassing Pakistan? Or was that more lies and propaganda?

Anyways, I hope that this whole situation is another gimmick by the Pakistani politicians which will be shelved or ended once another incident occurs between Pakistan and india.
India has just started to build the India-Iran-russia corridor to its port in iran, it will take years for us to reach Afghanistan & central Asia . you can't build a kingdom in a day.

Sir Samjhota is / was not tragedy but a terror act by Hinduvta goons.

In that case good for India, have lot of trash (heroine) directly.
Well is it necessary to relate religion here (hindutva goons). I have seen people stating that they(isis) are not muslims. When it comes to you guys you dont relate the religion with terrorism. But where others are concerned you start pointing at religion.well you can say anything what i felt wrong i just told you.

Yes we will.

India can demand all it wants, Pakistan is free to reject them. This deal was with Afghanistan alone.

India doesn't need Pakistan, it has access to central Asia and Afghanistan through Iran, and it won't cost India a lot. In fact, India can always negotiate with China to gain access to central Asia. China isn't paranoid like Pakistan is, it would probably grant access, provided India pays China.

Using the murder of innocent people to try and shame the other person into agreeing with your view, that is shameful and point scoring.
Considering BRICS and sco there are huge chances that china will allow india to access middle east through its land(if india will ask for).also china already offered india to include in both its cpec and silk route project but india didnt respond(may be denied.)

@Areesh we are now being compared with Zionists. :-) . I just wish if we could have the power like of Zionists. First thing we would have done is to bring back the capital to Karachi. A real capital made by Jinnah but was stolen by elite of country from "Zionists"

Might be the frustration that Immi is still not the PM of Pakistan. :)

Anyways people should look at the thread title before emotional outbursts. It is Afghan trucks going to India and not vice versa. And here we have some idiots talking about Pakistan going back to days of British raj or confederation with India just because few Afghan trucks are allowed to go to India.

The level of chutyapa is continuously increasing on this forum. Admins need to check it.

Pakistan today is just a business franchise for the erstwhile upper and middle class English educated elite from Muslim minority areas of India like Utter Pradesh. This group has effectively colonised Karachi in almost Zionist way the Jews did in Palestine. They display the same chauvinistic superiority toward the native cultures and languages as the Jews did with the native Palestinian. They even make similar claims that "we turned the Karachi into powerhouse".

Islam was used to wax eloquent and fool the gullible masses. A imposed culture was equated with Islam as if that culture or language was Islam. In effect a Utter Pradesh India was carved inside the heart of Pakistan under the guise of Islam. Religion was used to secure this groups economic interests. The total hold over media (check where all the media in Pak is based) meant control over the population.

Along the way another power centre. The military from the GT road axis grabbed power. Over time this group also co-opted with the former and the same song has been sung since then with minor change here or there.

Given this reality all 1947 did was make another India Minor with veneer of false Islam sprayed on the facade. Given this it might well go bacxk to 1947. At least it would save billions of dollars on defence that might b e better used to improve the lives of the poor.

This post needs to be taken care because it is full of venom on so many levels that it is nearly impossible to identify it all.

1 Urdu speaking community of Karachi are like zionists.
2 They have overtaken karachi and have established an apartheid in Karachi making Sindhis, Pushtoons etc slaves.
3 Pakistan is not a country but a business franchise established for the same "zionists"
4 Pakistan should cease to exist and go back to days prior to 1947.
5 Military is another power center that has allied with same "zionists" to rule Pakistan.

Now I am waiting for moderators of this forum to take action against this "think tank" for spewing venom against Pakistan and Pakistanis in a manner that we don't even see from Bharatis. @waz @WAJsal @TaimiKhan @Jungibaaz

Only if you believe Afghan trucks will go empty from India.....
i would be happy if indian trucks will filled with anything and bypass Pakistan. As soon it enters Pakistan we will unload all things from the truck and pass empty trucks to afghan

The federal government has agreed to give Afghanistan trade access to India using Pakistani soil, while in response Afghanistan has agreed to give Pakistan trade access to Sher Khan Bandar, a border area of Tajikistan.

Sources said that one year ago, a proposed trilateral agreement had been drafted for land trade among Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan which had to be signed. At the time of the signature, Afghanistan wanted to put in the condition to include India in the agreement. However Pakistan opposed the Afghanistan’s condition. This made the future of the trilateral transit trade agreement uncertain. But the government has now agreed to give Afghanistan trade access to India.

“The government has agreed that the Afghan trucks can use the Wagah route, also allowing them to use the routes of Torkham and Chaman for transferring the goods. Similarly the Afghan government has agreed that Pakistan can use Sher Khan Bandar, a border of Tajikistan for trade purposes,” sources added.

Sources further said that the Afghan trucks have been allowed to export Pakistani products on returning from Wagah while Pakistani trucks will be permitted to export products on return from the Tajikistan border. The government of Pakistan has also agreed to consider the Afghan proposal to eliminate existing negative list for Afghan Transit Trade.

In this connection, Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade Coordination Authority (APTTCA)’s meeting was held on February 14 and 15 in Islamabad. In the meeting, the two countries agreed upon a number of matters, sources said.

Seems fine to me no harm in letting them trade , but we should closely keep an eye on what they are sending , those trucks could have gifts for the TTP .

No. Sorry for being vague. What I said is beyond the proxy war or other issues. It strikes at the very reason why Pakistan came about and even more importantly the trajectory it took after it's inception.

I will some other time address this issue properly but I think Pakistan came about as result of accident (nothing wrong with that as 99% of countries came about in same way) but then was hijacked by a narrow clique that set about laying a structure that would give them monopoly to service their elite economic position. Along the way they have co-opted others or bought them out to keep that monopoly intact. The mass of people have been fooled and have paid the price and will continue to pay the price.

1950s was critical time but Pakistan went on the wrong path.
None of that is going to be fixed via 'confederacy' - you're referring to a massive constitutional and structural change that would make the requisite governance and economic reforms within the existing structure of the country (to change its current trajectory) minuscule in comparison.

The path forward remains a Pakistan independent of India, with continuity in constitutionally elected governments and reforms over time.

It seems the think tank analysts has got a fine move to go for like in a Chess game.Prayers with patriots of the nation .May Allah help us!

Of course. My previous comments were dramaticus intended to make impact. However IMHO Pak has to make peace with India. Then enjoy the "peace dividend" by investing in education and health of the poor. It needs to revert back to the bricks that made it - the provinces which existed well before 1947. It needs to develop a composite identity (that is sum of the provinces) and not this stupid Islamic identity which is just a cheap fraud to fool the millions while a predatory ruling class lives like royalty at the expense of the poor.

Ever heard of free speach? Rebut with counter points if you have any but not by trying to muzzle me.

Good for Afghanistan in the short term, great for India in the long term. Right now the Afghan market ia tiny but these seeds being sown right now will grow and as Afghanistan's economy grows, thanks in part to India's market, the Indian side will start to look to push for two way trade to commence. It might not seem palatable to Pakistanis now but neither was even this one way trade a few years ago.

And if not, India will have direct access to Afghanistan via Chabahar and Iran to export its goods

Slowly but surely India's interconnected SAARC plan is becoming a reality.

How it it direct access if it have to go through indian ocean,Iran and then into Afghanistan.
Most of afghan cities are on Pakistan side and their is not even a soul near Iran border.
Afghans importing any products that are available in Pakistan will never be feasible, same for india exports to afghanistan that will never be able to sell at the rate of Pakistani products due to tansportation costs.
Chabahar just like tejas is more of an ego issue for india and has no future value.
