IMF & World Bank: Two major levers of US economic hegemony - YouTube

Pakistan's assts will keep declining and then same banks will but our Mineral Mines and Coal mines and water resources

Loans
Make country desperate
Make their currency weaker and submit them to accept devaluation
Buy assets in country , Mines - minerals , resources , water
SLAVERY thru proxy

30 years ago for 100 rupess man could buy food for family for week

Now .. 100 rupess is like 1 dollar worthless!!!!!

Why is food and fruits we produce are worthless and oil is more expensive?
We supply fruits and food goods and our businessmen get pennies may be 1 dollar per fruit

For imported goods we pay 100$ per item

I mean why is crate of mango same price , while barrel of oil is 1000% more expensive?

They are not feeding anybody. They are lending money.

I guess they don't teach finance in your countries.

How can LOANS be considered BAIL OUT MONEY ?

Pakistan will have to payback these loans with interest.

You call that Feeding and Bail out money.

That just goes to show they have MORONS working as correspondents at THE HINDU NEWSPAPER.

Well, some people don't know how to use their minds

Video states Saudi Arabia hold 7th most votes out of 24 nations who hold elected seats on IMF :p

imf-greece2.jpg

Covers story of Philippines and what has IMF loan done to it destroying its poor people

180 Nations group together they elect 24 nations, who then create policies and donate money to IMF funds to give out loans according to needs

However there is political catch ... it states every time Pakistan was holding Security council vote , they received nice IMF loan as gift (bribe) , the IMF loan is political bone that is given as reward to cooperating countries

It allows outside countries to impose , and interfere with local government policies

No country other then South Korea has ever taken loan and actually shown progress

Countries (Developed countries) or ones with influence , get votes from 180 nations and then they sit as MAIN REPRESENTATIVE of policies which makes the 24 nations who dictate who gets loans and who gets nice "interest free loan" or who gets loan forgiveness

Loan payments we make go back to the lenders ..... Saudia and other developed nation.

Simplest example:

THE SCAM !!!

IMF gives loan
Project gets delayed and Price is hiked goes to 3-4 Billion
IMF starts collecting interest payment
Receiving country becomes poor
Rich countries give donation and aid , IMF collects interest back 10 times of donation
IMF then distributes the wealth back to Rich country
Money goes back to Wealthy countries , while the poor country is now in debt !!!
The wealthy countries then go and PRESSURE in debt countries to change policies and not focus on education and health and focus on cheap SELL OFF of natural resources

The video above gives example of Philipines , a country with rich food production resources how it was dupped by the IMF to build a nuclear power plant which never worked well and was over budgeted and now , the poor of nation have to pay DEBT ... on power plant that produces not much

US, UK, Japan? If am not wrong the pakistani keyboard warriors troll them the most (If u exclude India).

US maybe, but UK and Japan are actually quite respected. The only time Japan and UK get bad responses tend to be when they unconditionally support the US in everything, especially Japan. Other than that, they're considered to be friendly towards Pakistan.

Not only that...They were trolling IMF, ADB & World bank also... :D

Where is China.......:china:

The reason why is because the IMF ADB and WB have always given poor advice to Pakistan to run it's economy. One of the main reasons why we're in this mess is because of the IMF's advice on how to run the economy given to Zardari.

China is already investing billions into Pakistan. When it comes to Pakistan, they don't give aid, they give trade.

Beggars can't be choosers but they can be atleast respectful to the hands that's feeding them

Well, when one of them is bombing you and the other two support the one that's bombing you unconditionally, that tends to **** people off.

These people aren't feeding Pakistan, they're leeching off of Pakistan. These loans have to be paid back eventually, don't be so naive as to think that Pakistan is receiving free money.

These are for-profit organisations and nations, all they care about is making money.

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to avoid potential financial default, Pakistan has conceded to a major demand of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by agreeing to withdraw tax exemptions to the wealthy.
Sources revealed on Tuesday that the concession has paved the way for a new bailout programme worth around $5.3 billion. A formal announcement is expected within the next 24 hours, sources added.
The review and withdrawal of tax exemptions enjoyed by the country’s wealthy and influential lobbies will be a ‘structural benchmark’ or condition of the new IMF programme, confirmed a senior official of the finance ministry to The Express Tribune.
The tax exemptions have been granted through Statutory Regulatory Orders (SROs), and no new legislation will be requir*ed to take them back, sources said. However, the amount the government will raise by withdrawing the SROs was not immediately clear.
In the budget for the fiscal year 2013-14, the government has already levied Rs207 billion in new taxes aimed at achieving a tax target of Rs2.475 trillion. But this was declared insufficient by the IMF.
The move, though much-needed, is contrary to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s assertion that the government will not levy more taxes, “programme or no programme”. However, as a face-saving measure, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government will sell it as part of ‘homegrown reforms’ by insisting that it will not be a revenue measure, sources said.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will also soon start working on the SROs that will be withdrawn.
Levying more taxes either by withdrawing the SROs or through new legislation was one of the most contentious pre-conditions out of the five the IMF has set for Pakistan to obtain a fresh monetary package.
“We have converged on all issues and the deal will be closed very soon,” said Rana Asad Amin, a spokesman for the finance ministry.
Pakistan is in dire need of an IMF package to repay the loan it obtained in 2008. The reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan are not sufficient to meet international obligations.
According to the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2012-13, in the last fiscal year alone, the country provided Rs239.5 billion worth of tax breaks, mainly to influential people.
The FBR gave Rs82.3 billion worth of income tax exemptions. The sales tax exemptions stood at Rs37.5 billion which were mainly given to sugar and tractor industries. The customs duties exemptions grew to Rs119.7 billion.
But not all the exemptions can be withdrawn as many are given under international treaties, particularly on account of customs duties that are waived off or reduced under preferential and free trade agreements. The independent power producers are enjoying income tax exemption and the country waived off Rs50 billion in the last one year alone, according to the government report.

IMF is not a monstrous organization. it was created by countries all over the world with a single purpose , to help countris in fiscal deficit. its loan has the lowest possible interest, as money comes from the memeber countries.
so why is IMF so bad spoken off ? because IMF doesnt tells the govt how to spend the money, thus most of the money is wasted in corruption
IMF also doesnt ask the got how to make money available once the acute chrisis is over, thus govt usually resolve o poor tatcics(As the case in pakiistan where poor are taxed rich arent)

what IMF asks is to correct your home with whatever means "you" like to do it..whether you want to dcerease your spending, whether you want tax the rich, want to tax the poor or whether you want to finish subsides..its upto you..in pakistan mostly govt decides on taxing poor and taking more internal loans

e.g all that IMF asked from govt this time was to finish electric subsides and bring down fiscal deficit to 4.5%..now its upto govt whether they want to finish subsidy by collecting bills or slaughtering the poor

so fault or evil guy are our govts not IMF
world bank however is the good guy as it only funds developmental projects

laslty yes IMF is under pressure from some countries who are the largest donars like USA and KSA(KSA is under pressure from USAusa :P)

.
. One of the main reasons why we're in this mess is because of the IMF's advice on how to run the economy given to Zardari.
last time IMF canceled pakistan 10 billion package mid way beacuse zardari wasnot listening to them!

.
last time IMF canceled pakistan 10 billion package mid way beacuse zardari wasnot listening to them!

No, that was what we were told. They canceled it because Zardari was pocketing the money.

.
Disappointing all over again, we didn't learn the importance of economy....

Pakistan's newly elected government has agreed a $5.3bn (£3.5bn) loan with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The three-year loan will replenish the central bank's reserves and buy time for the government to cut its budget deficit and fix the energy sector.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif won elections in May in Pakistan's first democratic change of government.

Among the new government's priorities are dealing with frequent power cuts, and increasing its tax collection.

"Technical and financial problems in the energy sector have led to large-scale power outages, which have depressed output and imposed hardship on the public at large," the IMF noted in its announcement of the agreement.

As part of the deal, the government has also agreed to cut its over-spending, in part by eliminating subsidies and tax loopholes in order to increase the amount of taxes it collects.

Pakistan also agreed to raise more money through privatisation, including the sell-off of energy assets.

"We have not carried the begging bowl in our hands, nor are we getting a grant," said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who led the Pakistani delegation during two weeks of negotiations with the IMF.

Pakistan's last government abandoned the country's previous $11.3bn loan programme in 2011, as it found the financial reforms imposed by the IMF too demanding.

The IMF still needs to obtain approval from its executive board for the new agreement, which is expected in September.

قرض غلامی کی نشانی ہے

Once we will put enough DEBT ..

All those assets

>Riko Dig Mines Gold mines
>Coal found in Sindh
>Energy projects .....the same projects we are taking the loans for

All will be sold to international companies

SUBSIDY = GOVERNMENT INCENTIVE = TO LOWER SERVICE TO POOR
No SUBSIDY = HIGHER PRICES = MORE STRAIN ON POOR OF COUNTRY !!!

Some
GOVERNMENT ALSO RUNS SUBSIDIES ON HEALTH

All IMF does is PUTS A FORMULA .. you raise PRICES .. OF ALL GOODS .. we want our payment by such and such date
