your figures of the naval budget are wrong(though it may be operational costs) not asset precurement budget.If a deal for U boats is struck i believe it will be some where b/w 1.5 to 2 billion dollars worth of deal.

the now defunct sub deal was spread over 65 months - so at US$300/year, the US$500m seems not incorrect.

Hi....here in muscat port the shamsheer , submarine khalid adn the two missile boats quwwat adn jalalat are moored after excercises with the royal oman navy.....adn the shamsheer is very beautiful to watch...it has a good arsenal of weapons ans the engines are rolls royce.....the comms are german......the radar is german adn the overall systems are chinese......so a good thing to have!
