Pakistan finally becoming a nation state?

Spot on dude.....You are kind of people who symbolises that India needs to understand Pakistan and its people more from the view point of some sane people here in PDF...And again, same rule applies to us too....

I really appriciate your post and like it...Keep it up..

Religion is but a fleeting vantage point of our purpose on this planet. A tradition of folklore and historical events which we convey to our children to help them understand why they are born. Literature which we perpetuate for lack of a better understanding of the mysteries of this universe and out of fear of retribution and a prophesied Hellfire for failing to have done so.

No one person can prove their religion as no other person can disprove his. Let me help you remember that before we were Muslims, we were Hindu and my Islamic faith teaches me that only Allah knows what will happen to our generations tomorrow. Neither you nor I can say with conviction that the progeny which we leave behind, under the green flag, will be Muslims. We simply don't know. Also to exactly which version of Islam are you alluding to? We are multiple sects today and the way things are going we will be many more tomorrow, with each sect swearing by the Book that they are the right ones and that the other's are wrong. Our takfiri ways will be our downfall.

The best course of action to adopt in the present circumstances is to hold fast to your faith and to allow others the enjoyment of their's. This nation's survival is not contingent or pivotal upon Islam. Although our birth was part and parcel of the unity which Islam gave us, today Islam stands to divide us more than ever. If we are to make our place among the comity of nations and define our future as a working and progressive state we must learn to function for the Pakistani people, independent of the religion of Islam. Our policies must be geared towards the betterment of the people while at the same time be shaded with the morals and values which Islam inculcated us with, not the other way around.

Take it from Turkey. Do we think we're any more Muslim than them? Heck they even had a caliphate! Today Turkey, albeit being a secular country, is an Islamic model for progress. It is the only Muslim country as a matter of fact that looks well on its way to crystallizing its position as a hub of power for the Muslim world.

I pray that you shed your myopic view of this diverse planet which we live on and learn to embrace other faiths and traditions with tolerance and appreciation. It is a colourful world and that is exactly wherein its beauty lies.

not interfering in Pakistan`s matter but u Pakistani people should visit India to know us more.
our govt done very good thing in last 60 years. from the age 4-5 we were taught in school that we r Indians.
cast/languages/religions r secondary.
the one thing i like about India though i am hindu we dont stand or give any respect if we hear/listen nearby any aarti/bhajan. but when we r in public placed and listen/hear "Vande Maatram" people belong to any religion/cast/language stand up.
its come naturally to us. i saw lot of people become too aggressive if they find anyone disrespecting "Vande Maatram"

Just because you tells us to forget about Pakistani corrupt motherlands but still respect Pakistan Army -

Same logic applies here.

Just because scammy House of Saud or Turkish drama queens are drunktards DOES NOT mean they represent Islam or ALLAH.

We DO NOT protect Islam. We carry the message of GOD. Be strategic and not emotional.

Building your house will take decades that too if the powers to be don't come knocking the door.

It has to be external and internal effort.

No mafia likes to give up control.

Western elite is the same.

It will NOT BE PEACEFUL. If the time EVER comes to that.

Mate that thing is in their DNA/Genes. You wanna bet me your life-savings that this won't change in our life times or ever?

hard to say....

We have other neighbours too you know...Iran, China, and albeit bad-blood...Afghanistan.

with Iran and China we are not at war.....Afghanistan - a fractured state we have no control over. Can only try to help steer events in our favour but even thats a wishful thinking

historically it was the afghans (their puppet/slave leadership) that led them astray (for example, Bajaur incursions) and to be quite frank, it harmed them not Pakistan.

Pakistan cant do much from 4500km away.

i agree with some level headed posters here....to help them best, we need to become strong and fortified ourselves....we need to progress and evolve. Slogans alone only get you so far.

Bingo....I like your statement...We priotize nation more than religion...Only future will tell wheather we are in right track or not...But as of now, we are doing good..

No, but preparing Pakistan into a strong country as explained by @Aeronaut will.

If closing down business districts harms the economy and striking hurts the income of the awaam, Muslim or non-Muslim, then it is illegal [ Haraam [ as far as I know. It is hurting Pakistan itself, which is lunacy.

If shouting anti Israeli slogans spreads noise pollution, disturbs living spaces, wastes time, and keeps Pakistani away from more pressing issues at hand [ like supporting operation Darb e 'Adhb ] then it is illegal [ Haraam ] too

Also, the question is not about liberating Baitul Muqaddas, because it is already under Muslim hands. The Haram Sharif is under Muslim Awqaaf in Jerusalem. They control the temple mount.
This is joke off the century its under Jewish control handing to Mualims is a stupid joke but reality is Pakistanis will never betray RASOOL SAW and betraying his Ummat is betraying ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW

Hummus only goes with grilled chicken, and there is no better companion to a Shawarma than garlic sauce. Furthermore, anyone trying to make Shawarma, from other than camel's meat, needs to be shot dead............ :D

Shawarma bil hummus? What is this nonsense. Shawarma doesnt go with Hummus you fake shaikh. Off with your head.

Hummus only goes with grilled chicken,

Hummus goes awesome with kebabs as well.

and there is no better companion to a Shawarma than garlic sauce.

True that, especially chicken shaarma, garlic paste and pickles slices. Oh sweet baby Jesus have mercy!

Furthermore, anyone trying to make Shawarma, from other than camel's meat, needs to be shot dead............ :D

Say wuuuuut? Please jump off a building. Camel meat is the suck

It is true Arabs doesn't care about Pakistan problems, ask ourselves why we should help them?

At the same time, we can't ignore Israel's criminal murders on innocent children and women, they will come to get us after Palestine massacre.

Pakistan’s zombie-like response to the Gaza killings

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

While Israeli jets pounded Gaza with sophisticated bombs over the last two weeks, indiscriminately killing unarmed men, women and children before an unresponsive world conscience, the lukewarm reaction to this bloodshed from the Pakistanis seems out of place.

Although Pakistani people, particularly women and children, watch in horror the pictures of mutilated, blood soaked bodies of Palestinian children, women and men, the trauma and anger is not translating into any worthwhile protests which has been the hallmark of the country in such cases in the past.

The Pakistani “silence” is all the more disturbing for Pakistani people, especially after they have been watching video clips on social media over the last couple of months showing the besieged people of Gaza calling the Pakistan army to come for their rescue against the Israeli aggression.

Pakistan’s reluctant and slow response to the latest Palestinian crisis is perhaps because Islamabad has been deeply engaged in its own web of crises; including escalating terrorism emanating from country’s unwise jumping on the bandwagon of the U.S.-led war on terror.

Too inward looking

At present Pakistan is too inward looking to attend to any foreign crisis. Its army is engaged in a fierce final phase of a decade long war against the Taliban militants in the tribal region bordering Afghanistan. The operation is aimed at flushing out the militants from the final stronghold of the Taliban and resulted in displacing about a million civilians from the region requiring huge resources to provide them shelter, food and medicines during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Pakistani foreign office issued a belated customary statement condemning Tel Aviv for the bloodletting of unarmed civilians and calling upon the world to take concrete measures to resolve the Palestinian issue to bring the crisis to an end. The media followed it by taking up the issue but not giving it the kind of priority the Palestine issue used to take 10 to 15 years ago.

Islamist leaders like Jamaat-ud-Dawah’s Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and pro-Ikhwan party Jamaat-e-Islami’s Sirajul Haq have begun bringing their workers out on the streets for protests. But the political scene was being confused by some strange political characters like Dr. Tahirul Qadri who is running an anti-government campaign funded by donations collected from Western countries.

Unusual enthusiasm

Pakistan, in the past, has shown unusual enthusiasm in displaying sympathy and support to different causes of brother Muslim people elsewhere in the world.

Though the majority of Pakistanis suffer from illiteracy, their love for Islam and fellow Muslims is overwhelming. This love knows no bounds when it comes to expressing support on the streets and through giving generous donations.

On a number of occasions in the past, Pakistani Muslims have responded to international acts. Whether it was the issue of the blasphemous caricature in the European press, or the setting ablaze of the Holy Quran by U.S. Pastor Terry Jones, or the murder of Muslim women in European countries for wearing hijab by Islam haters, Pakistanis had always responded to such gruesome acts by registering strong protests on the streets which often turned out to be violent.

Similarly, in cases of Muslim genocide in Palestine, Indian-held Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechnya and Myanmar, Pakistanis went further than raising their voices for these causes but also helped out by generously donating for their oppressed brethren engaged in a struggle for freedom against the occupant armies.

The kind of spark in their resilience shown by Pakistani Muslims in the past, even by sudden and spontaneous responses to the causes of Muslim world, can be judged by the widespread violent protests against the blasphemous caricatures in the European press in early 2006.

The old Pakistan

I can vividly recall that during the early 1990s when the U.S. launched its first gulf war on Iraq, Pakistan did not have many supporters of Saddam Hussain and common people hardly knew him in Pakistan. Yet a religious leader, Shah Ahmad Noorani (late), gave a call to the masses to hold demonstrations against the U.S. and in support of Saddam. It was amazing that tens of thousands of people emerged out of nowhere and gathered on the major streets. They blocked the major parts of Karachi within a few hours.

That was the story of a past Pakistan. The present day Pakistan has become a tough place to live for the common man because of spiraling price-hikes, unemployment, street crimes and power cuts that leave most parts of the day without electricity, forcing the industries to shut down and businessmen to shift their businesses and industries to other countries.

Alas, the unwise and power hungry rulers have badly spoiled the resilient Islamic character of a nuclear Pakistan to the extent of leading the courageous and loving people of the country into ideological trauma where they are silently watching the helpless Palestinian women and children being killed.

I think the author is right. I also think that this is EXACTLY what Pakistan needs right now. Fix home before going crazy for others. E.Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Bosnia, Somalia....we have learned our lesson!

Look around the world and you'll realize how worst off people without their own country are. Do you think their religion is helping them? Take Palestinians for example. They won't admit it but if given the second chance, they would have gone for the statehood first instead of turning it into a muslim vs. jewish war.

It is true Arabs doesn't care about Pakistan problems, ask ourselves why we should help them?

At the same time, we can't ignore Israel's criminal murders on innocent children and women, they will come to get us after Palestine massacre.
Israel has nothing to do with us. Where do you get this mindset from? We're likely to be attacked by Afghanistan before Israel.

We are sitting thousands of kilometers away from Palestine. Our own house is not yet in order. Our Military is engaged in the Final phases of this War on terror . And still some idiots like Multani baba has audacity to ask Pakistanis to help Palestinians. Sorry Palestinians are not my problem. Im not powerful enough to deal everyone. Their Leaders should have had thought of attacking Insrahell. Time was not right you lost everything. And now those 'leaders' are long dead and rotting in ground and their childrens have to pay for their forefather actions

Let the likes of George galloway who's voice reaches millions do this Please keep Pakistan out of it for now. We have ganjas and billo-rani to kill

Those are your problem Mr most Jihadis are Jihadis because off that issue that issue and always will be our problem until it gets solved

Yes yes and soon this phenomena will enter whole world and current cowardness off our leaders on issue off palestine is going to produce lot more angry youth who will be not in mood to show any mercy

Zarvan bhai, youth is angry, I am angry too and want to do more but we have our concerns of very own survival.

How can we forget the famous reply of Hazrat Abdul Muttalib: "I am the owner of the camels. The House too has a Master who looks after it."

I think we have a lesson hidden in the event of Aamul Feel as we are in worst condition than that.
