Pakistan film industry fears 70% loss if ties with India worsen

Amount of money Indian movies make in Pakistan is like drop in ocean.
That may be true...if that so then why is the Hindu country crying?
The real reason we both know right. So kindly stop worrying about our industry as post Indian ban a market of 180-million will be more than sufficient to support Pakistan film industry and even that dies, believe none in Pakistan is going to die ... rather we will do much better. Long live two nations theory, long live Pakistan

Pakistan is Bollywood's second biggest foreign market. Last year, Pakistan's box office receipts jumped by 28% while India's domestic box office collection fell 6.7%.

Decline in Bollywood's revenue at home is forcing the Indian movie industry to look to Pakistan for growth. Part of the Indian strategy is to feature Pakistani actors and artists in its productions to increase Bollywood's appeal to Pakistan's growing moviegoers market.

The money earned by Pakistani actors working in Bollywood is minuscule compared to the business Bollywood films are doing in the rapidly growing Pakistan market.

Pakistani don't watch movies. We have enough live political circus . Its more entertaining with reality.
Plus, right now few Pakistani actors are Indian film industry movers.

Banning of bollywood will lead to closing down of Pakistani cinemas which happened the last time bollywood was banned.

For members thinking it would cause loss to India?
Pakistani market is a pretty small market for Indian films. It would lead to a minor decline in profits. Not loss.

It will be bad forc cinemas in the short run but our film industry will benifit from it in the long run
That's what they said the last time they banned it. It turns out that it did not benefit your film industry which collapsed with no competition and producing movies of gujjar jat gang wars.|

You are literally repeating verbatim what Pakistan Govt said last time and the results that came out after the ban.
Fair enough. Einstein did mention idiocy is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results.

pakistanis can not live without Bollywood. wo log kaise bhi karke hamari movies dekhenge. because we (thanks to urdu & founding fathers of pakistan) conquered culture and mindset of common pakistanis.

When was the "last time" ?

Indians movies were allowed just a few years back.

Pak cinemas had a downfall during Zias regime of censorship etc which lead to the demise of Pak movie industry which impacted the cinemas .. Nothing to do with Indian soft porno..

Plus now that the drama and film industry has shifted to Karachi quality had improved significantly

What culture and mindset ?

Pakistanis also watch Hollywood movies and Turkish and Italian soaps .. Does that mean they have conquered our culture or mindset ?

If anybody's culture has been conquered its indias and her people who ape the west even though they make a fool of themselves in the process.

Apart from that our soaps have already "conquered" your culture and mindset not the sass, bahu, multiple janam chutiyapa your industry churns like lose motions.

After Zia .. The Pak movie industry was dominated by criminals who used it to make their black money white...

These indian clowns think they own the world lol.

Actually, it is other way around. It is competition that is killing Pakistan industry which is Indian movies. If anything, Pakistani filmmakers are relieved to hear the ban of Indian movies now; that means less competition.

And i am not surprised that indian media reported this news. What do you expect from make-believe Indian medias? :D

Indians can not live without Bollywood and soap opera shows. hum log kaise bhi karke hamari movies dekhenge. because Bollywood & Indian soap operas (thanks to hindi & founding fathers of India) conquered culture and mindset of common Indians.

After Zia,s censorship quality continued to fall because of those criminals thats why our viewers stopped watching our movies but now in last 5 years quality has improved and Pakistani movies are making money not only in Pakistan but also abroad
Janaan was no 7 in the uk

In 2005 our drama industry was almost dead it took a lot of effort for its revival now we all can see improvement in quantity and quality so much that our dramas were even airing in Mid East with Arabic dubbing
