China is not like the US. When we talk of friendship with China, we really mean that. It is true that the US at one point provided a lot of arms, but think logically. At what times did we receive US assistance (military and financial) ? Didn't the Americans have their agenda and strategy to use Pakistani soil as a base against USSR ?

Even then, our defence deals came with a lot of strings and end-user limitations attached. China also gets a lot of public-approval by simply not being belligerent towards other countries, unlike the US.

I agree with you context but not with your facts... Us has always secured its own strategic interests ... like pakistan supporting jordan against Palestinians is one of the examples... secure your own interests before popular ideologies..

Yes ..true.. but you gave them everything they needed... you got your sabres and thunderchiefs were your backbone in those days... you blindly entered everything from Baghdad Pact to CENTO... Non-Alligned movement was right next door.. but just because big bad india was leading it pakistan had to jump in the bed with the US....

I hope you realise the amount of military hardware supplied to you by US back in the day ...

Compare that it Chinese relationship and the rationale for Pakistan's tilt towards China will be evident.

The US is famous for back stabbing its friends, and its about time Pakistan makes some permanent friends and ditch those who pose to be friends but are indeed enemies. I know that there are no permanent friends in dimplomacy, but it really doesn't seem so in the case of Pak-Sino friendship.
