The general is doing exactly opposite to what he is preaching. By condemning Russia as the aggressor indicates that the Pakistan Army Chief is siding with the West. That just exposes the fact that Pakistan Government and Pakistan Military are not on the same page when it comes to Foreign Policy of the State.

Incidentally, the Army Chief is making a blunderous mistake by siding with West. It is the wrong side to be on, as Russia is the one being surrounded by the West on either side of its borders. Don't think the general is aware of the fact that the West is on its way down, economically. It is China and Russia whom Pakistan must forge strong ties with, as it will afford Pakistan allies that aren't gonna throw it under the bus when their interests are fulfilled.

A pathetic state of affairs, Pakistan Military ought to focus on doing its job, which is defending the country, not formulating Foreign Policies.

this has been decided 2.3 days ago while bajwa sahib changed the entire angle of our foreign policy today so we will have to see!

now pakistan is really not in any camp . we were thrown out from western camp last year . and bajwa make us leave eastern camp too .

Bajwa is publicly showing where he stands on this issue, must be a reason for this.
He is clearly showing support for his American masters and proving Imran Khan right.

This is regime change in Pakistan.

Imran Khan is the best thing to happen to Pakistan in years.
Bajwa is the worst thing to happen to Pakistan in years.

I don't think it was a 'trap', but it does seem the establishment did miscalculate the blowback, and once the heat turned up a notch from the Americans, the establishment had to make amends, by way of 'neutrality'.

Just a wild guess though.

I believe this is the first time we have called the Russian operation an 'invasion', rather than just saying that territorial integrity of all nations should be respected.

IMO, the media reporting the events out of context in accordance with their affiliation, Mr. Bajwa's statement was also taken out of context for disinformation purposes, just watch Bajwa's answer to the American journalist:
