India will not get access to its spy Jadhav, Pakistan decides

Pakistan has turned down India’s request seeking consular access to detained Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav, who was arrested by Pakistani forces earlier this year.

“After due consideration, it has been decided not to grant consular access to Jadhav,” official sources said.

The sources said the decision was taken due to the arrested Indian Navy officer’s involvement in “subversive activities” in Pakistan.

Intelligence agencies had arrested Jadhav from Balochistan in March and announced that he was ‘a serving officer in the Indian Navy and deputed to the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).’

The Indian External Affairs Ministry had accepted that the arrested man formerly worked for Indian Navy and said its high commission in Islamabad was seeking consular access to him.

“The said individual has no link with government since his premature retirement from Indian Navy. We have sought consular access to him,” Indian Ministry’s spokesman Vikas Swarup said.

The Pakistan Army, however, maintains that Jadhav was directly handled by the RAW chief, the Indian National Security Adviser and the RAW joint secretary.

The sources added that Pakistan has collected documentary evidence against Jadhav which it will present before the UN.

The Foreign Office has already taken ambassadors of foreign countries into confidence on the matter, the source added.

Pakistan today denied India consular access to former Indian Naval officer Kulbhushan Yadav, who was arrested on charges of espionage in Balochistan two months ago.

This came after Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Chaudhary in April and demanded consular access to the spy.

Kulbhushan Yadav was arrested in Balochistan after he entered from Iran and has been accused by Pakistan of planning "subversive activities" in the country.

Earlier, Pakistan Army released a video of Yadav purportedly "confessing" his "involvement" in terror activities in Balochistan at his country's behest. Kulbhushan Yadav in his six-minute long statement said he had been directing various activities in Karachi and Balochistan "at the behest of RAW", the Indian intelligence agency, and that he was still with the Indian Navy.

INDIA RUBBISHES CLAIM

However, the claim was immediately rubbished by New Delhi, which alleged that Yadav had no link with the government since his premature retirement from the Navy.

Kasab was given consular access but pakistan refused as it would lay bare their complicity.
Now this will set a bad & dangerous precedent and next India catches some one they will also the do the same. All in all it will lead to a dangerous situation. Innocents will be caught , convicted in a kangaroo court and both countries will adapt a tit for tat approach.

Every one knows how credible pakistan is , right from mullah mansour to bin laden. Now Kulbushan yadav is being denied access as pakistan has something to hide.
