PAKISTAN DAY CELEBRATIONS :23RD MARCH


Pakistan Day commemorates the Lahore Resolution of 23rd March 1940,when the Muslims of British controlled India, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam M.A Jinnah formally demanded a separate homeland for the Muslim majority areas in order for the political emancipation and preservation of the unique cultural and historical identity of the Muslims of these areas.
Pakistan Day is celebrated with great fervour throughout the country, with a grand military parade and aerobatic demonstration by the Pakistan Armed Forces as well as those of friendly countries in Islamabad. It starts with a 31 and a 21 gun salute in Islamabad and provincial capitals respectively and a host of cultural and other activities throughout the day.
