Rawalpindi - November 5, 2013

Pakistan today conducted a successful test fire of Short Range Surface to Surface Missile Hatf IX (NASR). The test fire was conducted with successive launches of 4 x missiles (Salvo) from a state of the art multi tube launcher. NASR, with a range of 60 Kilometer and in-flight maneuver capability is a quick response system, with shoot and scoot attributes. It contributes to the full spectrum deterrence against threats in view of evolving scenarios.

The test was witnessed by the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Chairman NESCOM, Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, senior officers from the strategic forces and scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

The Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, congratulated the scientists and engineers on this outstanding achievement which consolidates Pakistan's deterrence capability.

No, its just that the system has now been tested to its full extent, and might enter production now.

Since the launch vehicle is quite small as compared to other BM TELs, it is easier to sneak one in in the heat of battle...launch the salvo and get out of there, before the enemy hits the vehicle. The canesterized missiles reduce time for launch preparations by a great amount.

That is good Sir it means we can fire 4 short range nukes at one time and by the way we should work on other materials I mean like nuke material which doesn't much radiation but destruction is same

Shoot and scoot is an artillery tactic of firing at a target and then immediately moving away from the location from where the shots were fired to avoid counter-battery fire

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tuesday successfully carried out a test-fire of short-range ballistic missile Hatf IX (Nasr), Geo News reported.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement released here said that the test-fire was conducted from a state of the art multi tube launcher.
The statement further said that Nasr could hit its land target within the range of 60 km with high accuracy and capable of carrying all types of warhead.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was also present on this occasion, ISPR said.

I have a feeling that this is to show forces on the Western border rather than Eastern side. KPK government is going to squeeze someone's windpipe soon and this may not just mean blockade of supplies into Afghanistan but out of Afghanistan as well.

Wao this 60KM proved too good for you guys as it has neutralized your military doctrine. And to pinch you a little, it is nuclear capable and more than enough to neutralize entire armada single handedly. Hope India never gets to see that day.

Official Indian Nuclear Doctrine - That regardless of the size of a nuclear attack against India, be it a miniaturised version or a "big" missile, India will retaliate massively to inflict unacceptable damage.

Yup, Mushrooms will be blooming in entire region and Nasr would be one of the service providers. International think-tank says Pakistan keeps more mushroom-producing devices than India does and they are small enough to be carried by 0.2m diameter Nasr. Amazing isn't it?
