I've never ever watched an indian film, drama, documentary or ever endorsed anything indian my entire life. And I will always keep it that way. Any industry, in its infancy, needs certain subsidies and protection from the state until it becomes viable. Just a few examples, (1) Tesla cars, needs certain subsidies and tax cuts and actually Spore govt denied them any such cuts back in 2011 and they left Spore just 6 months after,
(2) Solar panels (PV) are subsidised by govts (3) Wind energy relies on subsidies....because they are up against well established and age old nuclear, coal and fossil fuel based power generation. Similarly your film industry needs such incentives to grow and establish itself. Most importantly it needs to change the taste of cine-goers and the movie fans and that can take time, creativity and high quality equipment and post production along with essentials like story line, acting, camera work, editing etc

Haven't you tried that by banning Indian films for some four decades?? All it did was some 90% of all your cinema halls closed down. Now you are seeing some revival you want to kill it again.
