Pakistan Builds New Missile Boat to Protect Key Trade Routes

.
MR are not something thrilling sir ji . missiles must be LR that let enemy think twice before sit in cockpit

Still they can provide much better coverage and response time then SR-SAM. If good tactics are implied in NCW environment then very potent to have.

Range of this Fac is 5000 km. i hope it can carry some babur cruise missles and we should buy atleast 50 batteries of S 400 air defense system for this board.Pakistan should add some Aesa radars atleast 5 of them on Azmat class Fac.

The composition of the AAMS S-400 "Triumph" battalion [дивизион (divizion), not дивизия (diviziya, division)] includes:
  • 30K6E management tools as part of - command and control points (AR) 55K6E, radar complex (RLC) 91N6E;
  • Up to 6 anti-aircraft missile complexes 98ZH6E [batteries], each composed -
    • multifunction radar (MRLS) 92N6E,
    • Up to 12 freight launchers (TPU) type 5P85SE2, 5P85TE2 able to accommodate each 4 SAMs;
    • Ammunition for anti-aircraft guided missiles;
    • Complex means 30TS6E logistics system.

Given that S-400 costs about US$400 million per fire unit of 8 launchers, 112 missiles, command and support vehicles, 50 batteries would set you back some US$20 billion...?

Gun is 1b or version 2 upgrade of phalanx plus there is also one more electro magnetic fire weapon in DEV

http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/searam-anti-ship-missile-defence-system/
Phalanx upgrades are just that, upgrades (i.e. NOT a new gun system)
SeaRAM is a missile based CIWS (re-)using Phalanx gun CIWS components
There are no operational electro-magnetic CIWS in the USN as yet

The Navy is currently developing three potential new weapons that could improve the ability of
its surface ships to defend themselves against enemy missiles—solid state lasers (SSLs), the
electromagnetic railgun (EMRG), and the hypervelocity projectile (HVP).
Any one of these new weapon technologies, if successfully developed and deployed, might be regarded as a “game changer” for defending Navy surface ships against enemy missiles. If two or three of them are successfully developed and deployed, the result might be considered not just game changer, but a revolution.
Rarely has the Navy had so many potential new types of surface-ship missile-defense weapons simultaneously available for development and potential deployment. The HPV in particular has emerged as a program of particular interest to the Department of Defense (DOD), which is exploring the potential for using the weapon across multiple U.S. military services.
Although the Navy in recent years has made considerable progress in developing SSLs, EMRG, and HVP, a number of significant development challenges remain. Overcoming these challenges will likely require years of additional development work, and ultimate success in overcoming them is not guaranteed.

Why are you even replying dude , seriously Azmat mein 50 bandoon ka crew nahi hota and he is talking about 50 batteries of S-400 . Troll ....
I am replying to show how rediculous that thought even is. Do you mind? (I sincerely hope you are not calling ME a troll!)

. . .
Gah should have said RIM 116. Trying to ask if it's comparable as a CIWS or if it's more for point defence.

Pakistan has officially begun construction of a missile warship that the country hopes will guarantee the integrity of its vital trade corridor with China.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is key to the financial and national security interests of both countries. For Islamabad, Beijing’s capital investment in infrastructure projects offers promise to give the country’s economy a much-needed boost. But Beijing also relies on Pakistan’s navy to ensure the safety of oil shipments from the Arabian Sea and surrounding maritime regions.

In that regard, China is sharing Azmat-class ship technology with Islamabad, including the “latest weapons and sensors,” according to the Pakistani military’s Inter-Services Public Relation media branch.

Images of the ship’s construction indicate that, unlike the standard Azmat model, the new ship features larger, more powerful missiles, which some believe could be the C-602, a Pakistani version of the Beijing’s YJ-62, Defense News reported. Islamabad’s latest anti-ship missile, Zarb, codename for the C-602, enables a 300 kg warhead with a 280 km range. Pakistan hopes to arm the ship with precision-guided bombs for deployment against aerial and land-based foes. A naval launcher of land-attack bombs remained incomplete as of last year, Defense News noted.
Keeping maritime pirates and other malevolent adversaries clear of Pakistan’s port of Gwadar is essential for China, whose appetite for energy sources climbs by the day, along with the growth of its middle class. As previously reported, the Strait of Hormuz sees 20 percent of all oil traded in the world daily transiting the key waterway.

But from there, the journey is far from over, if China is to collect oil imports arriving from the Middle East and the Arabian Sea. Oil tankers face a tough challenge navigating through the narrow Malacca Strait, and could eventually be escorted by the new Pakistani vessel.
