Pakistan believes Russia’s military action in Syria against ISIS helpful

Diplomatic statements. Doesn't means Pakistan support Asad. I am pretty sure Pakistan is helping saudis prop-up Anti Asad rebels. Remember ISIS is also anti-Saudis.

Pakistani government needs a PR staff who can educate these illiterate villagers. They just want to poke the Arabs in their eyes and when they react they will act all confused.

This is the second wise and well-balanced foreign policy decision from Pakistan in more than 6 months. First Yemen and now this. Good job to Pakistani decision makers, finally, they seem to take decisions solely based on interests of Pakistan and nothing more or less. At least about certain areas of foreign policy, that's the case.

Being a victim of the same monsters Arabs propped up in Afghanistan in 90s (unfortunately also hugely supported by Pak gov at the time), Pakistan today seems to know exactly what is happening around the region, even if its officials are not bold or loud enough about it yet, but actions speak volumes
.

We didn't have any other option brother. Back then our support to the taliban was rather circumstantial. We had nothing to do with the eruption of a civil war and the surge ethnic violence in Afghanistan. Instead of forming a national unity government, the newly victorious mujahedin started to fight each other for the throne of kabul. We even tried to extinguish these flames, see the Peshawar Accord of 1992 . However, the increase in ethnic violence against pushtuns fueled the taliban movement. Our support for the pashtun taliban was based on the demographics of our own country. Many of our own tribals went to kandahar to fight along side their pashtun brethren. Our choice was made for us and back then all groups, including northern alliance adhered to the same twisted ideology.

I agree ,we have finally started to make decisions based on our national interests alone. However, we cant be more vocal and we must tread lightly when it comes to Syria. Since many of our friends and close partners have opposing views and conflicting interests in that region. Its quite a tricky situation.

p.s and btw did you now that from 1990-1994 both Pakistan and Iran were backing the same in coalition in the battle of Kabul. Iran backed Gulbudin Hekmatyar via Hizbe Wahdat (shia based group with was allied with hekmatyar). Hekmatyar also fled to iran in 1996. We were initially on the same page. But abdullah shah Masoud's alliance with india forced us to join taliban.

Saudi's are not propping up the rebels, please don't believe such lies. The people are on their own, Saudi like any other country only care for personal interest, all these governments are cruel.

Jaish-al-Islam and few other groups are trained and funded by Saudis. There are videos on YouTube of their pass-out (graduation ceremonies) altho they are wrongly named as Jabat-ul-Nusra in title.

Excellent! Finally were coming to the right side.

Yes. Syrian "moderate" rebels are building TOW missiles in their basement. Their monthly stipend is coming from the FSA stock market. Nothing in this world works without money.

No they aren't, some say funded only, as far as military equipment/training it's just homegrown guerilla tactics. It's much easier to transfer cash than weoponry, and even if they send anything it's small arms which has no use.

TOW's are garbage old weapons, no modern military uses such anti-tank missiles anymore, that's why all stocks end up in militant hands. It's just that Syrian army armor is prone to any anti-armor weapon. Against modern military they won't do you any good.

Earlier it was pakistan who became the front man of USA in afghanistan against russia now its turkey.... I hope turkey just leaves the nato and stay neutral

Dude you are pretty misinformed, US and many other military heavily uses TOW missile. They are pretty expensive. Syrian don't know how to fight. Infact, most people in Arab countries don't even know basic hand to hand combat techniques, forget about fighting a guerrilla war.

THE WHOLE WORLD WILL WITNESS DEMISE OF TERRORISTS BY RUSSIA .

THAT THEY WILL NOT LONGER BE ABLE TO HIDE . . . .

Thank God this chappoo didn't appose it.
He shot 2 birds with one stone.

-Lured Russians for SU-35 & future arm deals
-Sent a strong message to Al-Sauds

You must remember he was one of those who said in media that Pakistan will purchase advance fighter jets from Russia in media.

Khwaja Asif nooni looni commenting on Russian actions in Syria, now thats funny ! Its like me commenting on life on Mars.

Americans have been bombing Isis for more than an year yet they have achieved nothing and failed miserably to stop Isis whereas the Russians have started bombing Isis for less than a month and daesh is leaving behind those brand new Toyotas to save their lives
