Pakistan Army testing MBT-3000 next moth ?

.
Different weight classes. VT-4 (MBT-3K) is more suitable for their replacements.

@Dazzler | I've been told that Pakistan has tested ZTZ-99 but its temperature tolerance among other things didn't impress PA. What upgrades would we need to make into the VT-4 design for Desert Optimization?

never heard of type-99 being tested here, maybe they did, no idea. However, the 150HB series engines installed in both 99s and MBT 3000 have been troublesome since long. I hope they have rectified overheating and black smoke issues, thought he video suggests otherwise.

Does it have encrypted data link?

yes it does.

. . .
i suspect between 5.5-6 million

Then whats the logic of exploring the possibility of acquiring MBT-3000s to replace our Type 59s when they're priced in the same range as the Al-Khalid base model ?

should be 2-2.5 million

If the above figure is true wouldn't it be more prudent to acquire additional T-80 UDs with such upgrades that it pushes the price up by a million at max while incorporating the rest in a phased manner ?

Assuming that the T-80 UDs are fine tanks as they are !

MBT 3000 is yet to be tested, not entered service, they may evaluate them and compare with price performance.
UDs have several limitations in turret and upgradation, not feasible to buy more, ukraine also do not produce them anymore, rather BM Oplot series which is more expensive and order fulfilment takes more time due to ongoing crisis in ukraine.

Well HKHAN also said we are going to induct an IFV please discuss that too @Dazzler @Horus

.
@Dazzler | One thing i've always wanted to do is to use the AK chassis to develop a BMP-2 like vehicle.

it can be done, provided the user is willing for it, the chassis is modular so its possible

it is a good wheeled system, something we lack, should serve us well

@Dazzler The FCS of Zarrar is reverse engineered from T-80UD FCS, is it true ?

What's wrong with black smoke? Even the Japanese Type 10 (one of the most expensive tanks in the world) produces huge black smoke.

Nope, its indigenous system with western (german) input, better than ud.
