Pakistan Army testing MBT-3000 next moth ?

its not good in the battlefield, gives away position at times.

I know black smoke can give your position away. I just feel weird that you point it out as if it's a specific problem for Chinese tank when, as you can clearly see, the most expensive tank in the world also produce huge black smoke.

Okay but please try to confirm status off MBT-3000

it is being tested

Besides, a tank cannot be too much stealthy when it's moving. Black smoke is only temporary, flying dust is permanent.

traditionally 150BH engines have had this problem, unless mbt 3000 performs well in desert, its too early to say anything.

Well for example if tests start this month How much Tanks we would use in these Tests and How long tests will continue ?

In the midst of all this discussion...Are there going to be any plans in future to sell xx Number of Al-Zarrar MBT, Type 85IIAP once replacement is found. @Dazzler

Al-Zarrar and T 85IIAP are good options for developing nations especailly Libya, Iraq, Syria and other African nations, but these tanks have limited capability to upgrade. Am worried abt the AK / mbt 2000 sales?

* At 52 tonne, a 6td-2 with 1200hp would produce a reduced output, between 21-22.5 hp/ tonne. Even in current Alkhalid-1 (49 tonnes), it gives just oer 25 hp/ tonne. Although it is not significant decrease, in thar region, you need all the power you can get :)

*IF such an arrangement could be made, it would be a delight, as far as i know, we offered a TOT but Ukrainians refused, they feared that we may sell it to China ;)

something is definitely "cooking"

Sir ji AK : 46-48 Tons... with 26:1 power to weight ratio..

Better option give em to Rangers n FC... FC guys are already operating AZs...

But why? Wasn't AK good enough?

AK is different class & weight type and VT4/mbt3000 is different, similar to Type 99 / 99A2. Army needs a new tank for itself and sell.

Secondly, when old tanks retire, having AK as main front line only is a bad idea, as enemy need only to concentrate on and find weaknesses on one AK type only. This will not bore well for Pak Army strategy, tactics and battle plans.

Lastly Al Khalid is one amazing battle machine. It is mostly indegeniously developed by HIT. It has superior made in Pakistan parts, much better than some Chinese parts and sub systems. So AK, AK I, or AK II is the savior line of Pakistan, with a lot of classified and ability to mix and match systems. AK is prime tank, is not going anywhere and here to stay.
