The exercise involved large-scale integrated maneuvers of infantry, mechanised, armoured, army aviation and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) assets. Large scale defensive and offensive maneuvers were practiced by the participating troops,reports Dawn. General Raheel Sharif said the exercises indicated that the 'Pakistan Army is the best army in the world'. We have to remain ready for the full spectrum of threats," said the army chief on the occasion, while commending the morale and battle readiness of the troops. The large-scale maneuvers were being conducted by the XXX Corps (Gujranwala) and XXXI Corps (Bahawalpur), are tasked with waging war in the deserts of Cholistan and the plains of Punjab, and holding the vital area which connects Pakistan's Punjab and parts of Kashmir.(ANI)

Training wise , Pakistan can be put in top 10 .. the war on Terror has increase our Military experience and fighting capabilities , our Experience in counter Terrorism can only be matched by US and some NATO allies .

Not even the US and NATO can match our experience ; they couldn't defeat shepherds with rusty Aks as a coalition of over 20-30 nations and and hundreds of thousands of soldiers. We managed to take an area the size of UAE from those terrorists.

I wouldnt say 'best' - but no doubt; Pakistan army is one hell of an impressive army ever since Raheel took over. Many things have changed and are continuing to be changed. In terms of experience we're unmatched, we're much better equipped than our Indian counterparts - but we still need to work on our objective of reaching NATO standards, our training is very good as well.

No, US and NATO allies experience can't be matched , reason are technology , gear , equipment and so ..
we have lost many soldiers because of lack of required tech , imagine if we have drones back in Mid 2000's we may have saved a lot of life's .
we still have a long way to go , but experience wise , i'd put US , UK , Russian above Pakistan ...

I wouldnt say 'best' - but no doubt; Pakistan army is one hell of an impressive army ever since Raheel took over. Many things have changed and are continuing to be changed. No the bharati army is the best though some would say they can not even subdue some inexperienced guerillas in kashmir and assam etc

Pakistan army and other law enforment agencies never entered that area after the independence, that part of the country had their own rules and was know for carrying out criminal activties all over Pakistan.

we never lost that area militarily , its a failure of Political leadership . you have to read history to understand the problem of Tribal Areas aka FATA .. these tribes are even fears by the British colonial powers .. Pakistan army knew that entering the area will cause huge damage on both physical and mental level, cause you will be posting Pashtoon against their tribal brothers .. those tribal knows these mountains same like the Vietnamese guerrilla knows the jungles and caves .. the result was slaughter of US forces .. militarily we take back SWAT , and many agencies of Tribal belt in relatively short time ..
but i wont be putting US army below Pakistan because US have better intel , tech and gear & equipment ..but our experience and gains in the region is unmatched to any army in the region and many in west .

first one should define "defeat" . NATO attacked talibans and within weeks the capital of the country was in control of the americans. the taliban leadership was on the run in caves. NATO won the military war within weeks.

some people compare pak army with US army and NATO. they attacked afghanistan and took control of the battle field within weeks .the taliban were on the run. they have been afghanistan for decade although full control of any country by any army is impossible. now when things are getting expensive they have left and gone back to their country. where we would go if we lose to terrorists, God forbid? arabian sea?so for pak stakes were high as compare to NATO in afgahnistan.our existence was in danger. now please compare the size of afghanistan with the size of FATA and also compare the number of troops deployed in afghanistan by nato and in FATA by pak. the NATO has an edge in technology and professionalism.

What is that ?

You are comparing the Pakistani army,who is fighting in and on a terrain that you know very well and won't point out that the logistics were breeze for you as the war was within your country ! Comparing NATO armies with Pakistani army,who are fighting thousands of kms away from their homes on an unknown terrain,where (most) the local populations are seeing you as invaders,who do not share any similarity with you.... (language,religion,manners...) is a bit odd..

You forgot that the Talibans were evicted from most of the cities within weeks and that they are hiding like rats in their mountains........

Our military was never present there in the first place; it was administered and run by tribal chiefs.
