It was AS350 which is a modern and extremely reliable helicopter. Technical fault is the reason.

Martyr of Pak Army Major Muhammad Hussain Irshad was buried with full military honour. Major Muhammad Hussain was martyred in a helicopter accident yesterday. Funeral prayer of martyr was offered at Imamia Jamia Mosque.

Major Hussain Shaheed was buried in Aliabad cemetery. A large number of people including the elder brother of the martyr Major General Ehsan Ali participated in the funeral. Force Commander Gilgit Baltistan and Station Commander were also participating in the burial.

Bad weather is the cause of this crash. When the flight took off the weather was bad but on the way back it became extreme and closed in very quickly.
Had it not been a flight to ferry the body of a shaheed, it would have been scrapped altogether.

Service ceiling of AS350 Eurocopter is around 15100 ft whereas Minimarg, a village in Neelam Valley is 9320 ft.
Mountainous terrain combine with low visibility and bad weather might be the cause of the incident.
