I should have thought that an elementary qualification for being in the Think Tank is the ability to think. Try it some time; it's never too late.

AK-I is being developed/ tested, should be inducted by 2016. Its not about abandoning either rather about the similar capability of both platforms which complicates things further as where is the need for vt-4 when similar weapon system is functional and a better variant is being worked on.

Pakistan is more than half of Chinese export defence industry of about 70% and it has hand to give equal status to Russian and Western technology with recognition, Pakistani technology transfer and experience of use. If Pakistan helps Chinese Defence Industry for more than 50 years, it has the first priority to get top of line materials and best protection techonology too.

Do you know Pakistani Al-khalid I is better than Chinese T96G..

the NG-MBT Haider testbed, if MBT 3000 fits the upgrade tank for Pakistan, then so be it. Excellent news....but I suspect Pakistan will have to change massively again.


But I recommend, Pakistani NG MBT Haider team needs to look and search for better alternative in Western and Asian countries to fit its tank requirements, including Ukranian & Russian market.

Your Al Khalid is repainted MBT 2000. Your Al Khalid II/ Haider would be repainted MBT 3000.

How can MBT series kill Khalid? Instead without MBT 2000/3000 there would be no Khalid.

The new Tank system was born under Chinese designation of " Type 90-IIM" along with export version of MBT 2000.In Pakistan, the tank took on the of name "Al-Khalid"

Infact, vt-4 is the first application of chinese 3rd gen thermal imager, not even type-99A features it so far, would do so later i am sure. Also, surprisingy, type-99A did not feature an environment control system till recently, perhaps due to plaa requirements that never called for such gizmos, rcws among them.

As an export model, the purpose is to satisfy customers even if it excceds capabilities of plaa inventory in some cases. Still, type-99 remains a plaa only model.

Just to clarify some misconceptions on capabilities of the two models.
