What's new

Pakistan army had begun test on MBT 3000

we will transfer it if PA want it in large quantity, I think it will spend long time period for you to absorb the tech.

A strong PA fits China's national interests.
So when they can be inducted in PA's new mbt fleet? Any rough idea?

.
PAkistan army don't want their main battle tanks beyond 55 tons, it reduce mobility. we have good way of engineering to make it lighter. if we make it a rear magazine, it will surpass 60 tons easily.

if you choose to live in delusion , I can't help you. even BD chooses MBT series, why don't they induct Arjun when Awami league always sucking your toes?

you just can't expect a spoiled Adonis to fight in a brawl.

battle tanks need to be tough, Arjun is soft.

I love your dependence on technology and fact in discussions of this nature.

"...choose to live in delusion"
"...even BD chooses MBT series..."
"...why don't they induct Arjun when Awami League always sucking your toes?"
"...spoiled Adonis to fight in a brawl"

And the priceless jewel in the crown

"...battle tanks need to be tough, Arjun is soft"

LOL.

I've met two types of Chinese members, the hyper-nationalist and the mature analysts. Now I have to specify a new category.

Bye for now.

@Joe Shearer

bro, you're wasting your time with low iq trolls..give them space tom troll.these trolls complain about "Weight of Arjun",but IA wanted to add few modifications on Arjun-2 which would inevitably increase weight.now, why would they do that unless they've no problem with that.

weight increases due to higher level of safety, equipments like Mine Plow and for other reasons.if weight was the parameter, then nobody would care about Abrams,Leopard-2 and Challenger-2,both of which belongs to the same category.

Let's face the facts, all building a tank depends on your industrial development, check China and India? quite big gap.
But if you are using technology from mars in several years, you would have a chance to win.

.
Hmm.

I do it, it's an overweight behemoth, which can't fight.

You do it, it's contemporary technology, weight controlled.

Fascinating.

Here is a fact, genius:

1-This tank, MBT 3000 tops out at 52 tons.
2-Arjunk tops out at 58.

So there is a good 6 ton difference. The difference matters depending on how you transport these vehicles. If Pakistan can transport a 52 ton vehicle by road or rail, what seems to be the problem? I have yet to see any big issues with that.
However, in your case, wasn't it your own report that discredited the Arjun's increased weight due to limitations of Indian Railways/Bridges?

What is a problem for you doesn't mean has to be a problem for us.

last, at least field Arjun in numbers before you present your troll posts.

Don't be naive, and don't fish. Everyone knows the reasons.

Yea, please enlighten us with these reasons, except that Arjun has yet to meet IA's confidence.

Or perhaps, it is a super dooper tank, reserved only for use when Martians invade India.

Ah, the white knight in shining armour (Chinese technology, presumably).

Considering that these tanks are intended for use on the western fronts exclusively, and considering that their points of deployment are close to the probable points of engagement, the transportation problem is really something created by those elements who needed to make a desperate case for imports from Russia. Considering that 248 tanks are on order, I don't see why we should take on much larger numbers until we have settled our other needs. We don't fight purely with tanks; there are requirements and needs in other spheres, and we are filling them. All the while that you are compromising with your needs and requirements because of economic difficulties.

Yea, please enlighten us with these reasons, except that Arjun has yet to meet IA's confidence.

Only the Martians are likely to invade, now that our former favourite candidates have been blowing themselves up in large numbers. But the reasons are purely credibility-based, reasons why foreign imports have been favoured over indigenous supplies from the outset. Our Indian design capabilities are excellent; we can't produce in adequate numbers, and neither the Army nor the Air Force want to wait until production capabilities match those already available abroad.

Isn't it nice to be able to afford to get what we want, rather than waiting hat in hand for hand-outs?

We've already won.

We decided some time ago that a screwdriver was not an advanced technology device.

If we are testing the Tank we like most off it so soon we would get and improve it further and add more features

do not bring arjun in this thread, go to arjun thread where the fantasy with all its loopholes is pretty much busted down the drain.

on mbt3000/vt-4, it is the search for an advanced mbt to fit in by replacing obsolete 59s and 69s mostly non alzarrars. If vt-4 was that high tech, HIT would have abandoned the AK-I project long ago which apparently continues to this day. for a comparison between AK and vt-4 technological aspects, it is too early to speculate as no one knows the exact details.

However, the notion that it is a generation ahead of AK is simply false to say the least. From thermal imager, fcs, hunter killer and multi target cueing, rcws, advanced armour, AK has been using these since 2002. Heat ammo can be fitted if army requures, gun is compatible with it.

You should look before you leap.

This was not an introduction of the Arjuna into the thread; it doesn't belong. I don't need you to tell me that.

This was to point out the ridiculous aspects of doing back somersaults about a heavy tank, with a similar weight, by the same people who had problems with the weight of another heavy tank.

I believe it was a relevant intervention. There is no need for hysteria.

you are a professional, act like one.

you don't have to abandon AK cause MBT3000 is in the series with MBT2000, they are brothers.

AK-I is being developed/ tested, should be inducted by 2016. Its not about abandoning either rather about the similar capability of both platforms which complicates things further as where is the need for vt-4 when similar weapon system is functional and a better variant is being worked on.
