Media can be very biased at times..

After recent quetta blast cnn portrayed it as if it was some how pakistans fault and result of pakistani policies...they interviewed hussain haqqani (MF) to further this point...

But islamic state took responsibility of quetta blast... same islamic state which in last few months alone have attacked paris brussels and dhaka as well as US itself.....so why quetta was pakistans own fault??

Pakistans fault is that its allied with china and chinese may challenge US dominence in middle east thrugh gwadar... thats all...

So we should.start giving a damn about perceptions....

pakistan allying with China is one thing. China has no ability to challenge American dominance in Middle East especially through Gwadar, not at least for a decade or two

Pakistan does not fare well in the foreign media. It is a greatly misunderstood country. Rarely is there a positive story and the perception remains of a very dangerous country. No matter what happens, what the achievements are, there is still very little shift in perceptions. In the past two years, Operation Zarb-e-Azb has been extremely successful, terrorism has decreased, ongoing operations continue to destroy the remaining terrorist groups and their infrastructure throughout the country. Yet recent articles from leading international media organisations remain extremely negative.

That's because of Pakistan's policy of going after the 'bad' terrorists whilst leaving the 'good' ones alone. The world is constantly seeing this doublespeak when UN designated terror masterminds like Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar, and Salauddin march openly in the streets of Pakistan shouting anti American/Indian/Israeli slogans and threatening war, with the tacit approval of the Establishment and infiltrate terrorists of the LeT and JeM into India for which there is living proof, to create mayhem in Kashmir. The Haqqani's too are safely ensconced in Quetta! The world knows it and Pakistan's bluff has been called.

Lately the UN has unequivocally confirmed that terror kingpin Dawood has six well guarded residential houses in Pakistan, while Pakistan has been denying for years that Dawood even lives there! Then there was Osama and Mullah Mansoor who were taken out by the US in Pakistan. Mullah Omar (who died 2 years ago but kept secret till recently) and a host of others including the Haqqanis and the Hikmatyars were and are enjoying Pakistan's hospitality. No wonder the world doesn't take Pakistan seriously where the WOT is concerned.

For peace to return, it is incumbent on Pakistan to go after ALL terrorists, but that is easier said than done as the Establishment is wary of a massive blow-back from these terror groups who will then go after the Pakistanis themselves and target their assets. In addition, these terror groups are the Establishment's own 'strategic assets' to be used as and when required but mostly against India and Afghanistan. So why should they go after these 'good' terrorists that they've nurtured for decades?

In a nutshell, it's going to be more of the same.

The difference is that we are moving forward. Reducing poverty, increasing industrialisation, and rejecting the evils of our society (slowly, but steadily ).
The worldview of educated indians is similar to the western world.

Pakistan does not need to care about his image in the world. Her geostrategic location and nuclear power status will always suffice.
