On April 16, 1987, Pakistan Air Force F-16 flown by Squadron Leader Badar-ul-Islam shoot down an intruding Afghan Su-22 near Thal area during the Afghan War. Squadron Leader Saif-ur-Rahman was the Air Defence Controller on radar for this mission.

Glimpse of Iranian Cadets undergoing advanced jet training on PAF T-33 jets from Pre-Revolution Era. PAF & IIAF used to enjoy very close relations back then. Recently in 2018, IRAF cadets also underwent advanced jet training on K-8Ps at PAF Academy Asghar Khan.

With over 60 years in Pakistan Air Force service, T-37 "Tweety bird" has trained multiple Generations of Fighter Pilots.

The reliability of this jet and side by side cockpit is pretty much the reason PAF loves it.

These jets are based at PAF Academy Asghar Khan, in Basic Flying Training Wing (BFT).
