Pakistan, Afghanistan reach consensus to resolve border fencing issue

There are people in Afghanistan that hate Pakistan and maybe some in taliban lower ranks as well. This doesnt change the high level policies. Some idiots were shooting and jumping at the news. It will take some time bit eventually this hate will diminish.

All afghanis have this keera of superiority in them doesnt matter if they are Taliban or others. Right now Pakustan is their only connection to international community which is why they are being docile. As soon as international community recognises Talib govt they will start bitting our hands again.

Its not about superiority but history. Our anti USSR stance initially put us against them and then the wars and then india funded alot. However its not the same with everyone. The afghans with association or business with Pakistan do not hate Pakistan.
Pakistan will always be their lifeline and they will be stupid to damahe relations with Pakistan.

A Stanis will behave or go to bed without supper, the tabs are isolated with country on the verge of falling apart.

This is why we need to finish this fence ASAP and build up enough forts, so that the border is a fait accompli should the relationship sour. Hopefully these disputes can keep getting resolved with talking but that may not hold up in every situation, and the army needs to retain the means of persuasion without creating new blood feuds with tribes across the border, if it can be avoided.

Therefore, I also hope the army get some non-lethal directed energy systems; Active denial system aka heat ray or the Long range Acoustic hailing Device; LRAD (just in case some low level people threaten the border fence or forts, no need to shed blood if it can be avoided)

the terrain is so rugged in places that skirmishes could occur by accident in the future if the border is lot clearly marked.

The 82nd airborne crossed into Pakistan this way near FOB Salerno (near Khost), not sure of the year this incident takes place.

Pakistan should try to find a way to make ever third or fourth border post into a major fort and make it a fortified town with services for people on both sides of the border; medical care, free trade market, etc. so the Afghans see the long term benefit of the border, and learn to live with it, similar to Hadrian’s wall or the forts on the Rhine River by the Romans. Also a good way to provide humanitarian aid services without going into Afghanistan, and allow families to cross back and forth in an orderly manner that still allows the Pakistani government to know who is coming and going as much as possible.

p.a. The Nuruistanis/Kunari people have always been one of the most independent peoples in the border regions. Its not surprising issues would start there. Also remember the average age of the population in Afghanistan is 18, so a lot of the younger fighters have no perspective of a time without fighting. The sooner the Afghan economy picks up , and they can go back to the timber trade, the sooner they can stop causing a fuss along the border, hopefully.

Millions of afghan children will starve to death

Pakistan can help, but afghans have to choose to behave like human beings

Actually it is about superiority. Their rivalry with residents of what constitutes as Pakistan dates backs hundreds of years. They repeatedly attacked Punjab and sindh regions bcz of their fertile lands. They simply cant get out of their glorious past where they used to massacre people and loot them. Its all about ethnic superiority. Even before USSR they had issues with Pakistan. They were tge only country which refused to accept Pakistan and it wasn't bcz of Durand line. Even if you are to hand over half of Pakistan to them they will still be back for rest.

Its all about history and structure of Afghanistan. Afghanistan being landlocked country will never accept fence and Durand line. No matter who is ruling Afghanistan.

Throughout the history the land of Afghanistan depends on its neighbours as Afghanistan never had resources to run her nation. They will never have. They do want some land of Pak for the resources and access to sea.

Seems like consensus has gone down the drain and adghani namak harams are now firing artillery shells and rockets at Pakistani tribal areas. There is deafening silence from Pakistan Military. Lagta hai Aman ka keera nikal gaya hai ab sharam say kuch samaj bi nae aa rae hogi kya kehna hai.

@Rafi @PanzerKiel would creating a buffer inside kunar and Nangarhar be something army is considering if things get messy? Like a 10-20 km deep buffer inside afghan territory to protect our tribal areas.

The pigs are indistinguishable from civilians you would have to remove civilians, which is not something we can do. Best to go for PGMs and artillery, mortars.

They will attack again, mark my words its matte of time when more and more skirmish will happen at the border, TTP will operate from Kunar and other Border areas, PA will hit them/ or try to hit/chase them and AT will then get furious that Pakistan is shelling in their areas, but they won't do crack down on TTP, If AT start a massive crackdown on TTP, kill their leaders and at least do something about it then we can say that their resolve is to keep a good relationship with Pakistan, but so far it seems that Taliban is using TTP as leverage to blackmail Pakistan.

The rivalry was basically with hindus and then turks/mughals. Ironically u never mention turks, or is it that u liked being their slaves? Didn't the mughals massacre and took over? If u blame afghans then blame all of pashtuns because the current KPK people also sides with them, but are now part of Pakistan. You cannot be stuck in history. Yes they disnt accept Pakistan, because maybe they had other plans but so did many Pakistanis not accept Pakistan. Even the ulama e hind were against Pakistan, so were pashtun nationalist. Its time we look to the future. Afghanistan and Pakistan have to work together to develop, both have to realize this. Keep stuck in past and both hate each other and both stuckin poverty or look ahead and create a new future.

Are we talking about Turks or Afghanis? When turks are not even mentioned in the context then why would i even talk about it? I am not talking about collective history of all but rather afghans and area that makes up current Pakistan.
It os strange that first you mention history yourself and when quoted from same history you divert it to firgive and forget. Unfortunately Afghans are a reality and even if you forgive and forget they wont. Burrying our heads in sand will not help us.
