Pak Suzuki extends plant shutdown - who's next ?

.
Well if we were exporting these tin cans, we would never had have this problem. Our Car makers are satisfied with this low end market. Pay it safe and you lose.

a much simpler logistical operation than above highest mountains and through deepest oceans brother connection :P

jokes aside, but

Sales of Pak Suzuki fell by 35pc in 5MFY23 to 37,042 units from 57,200 in the same period last fiscal year.
that is an absolutely insane number for sales erosion.

competition offering better products, or is the economy in a bad way that nobodys spending on new wheels ?

(almost) sister company, Maruti Suzuki seem to be doing well:

In the earlier report, we took a look at the Car Sales Nov 2022. In this post, we will look at the market share of car makers in nov 2022. Maruti Suzuki used to dominate the Indian car market with more than 50% of market share. Even though it is not 50% anymore, thanks to diversification of the Indian auto industry and new entrants, Maruti is at 41.30% in November 2022. To put it into contrast, the second-highest car manufacturer in India has less than half of Maruti’s market share. With 44.81% market share registered in the same time period last year, Maruti’s share went down by 3.51% YoY. And when compared to 41.73% share a month before, Maruti’s total market share went down by 0.43% MoM. Alto, Baleno, WagonR, Celerio, Brezza are some of the highest contributors for Maruti.

Oh no how are Pakistanis going to buy overpriced soapboxes on wheels now?

It’s 2023 and this is marketed as the workhouse entry level car for the average Pakistani:

acha hua ya bura hoa toh aap hi jaano

but local industry to honi chahiyay.. Pak is severely lacking in that department, and falling far far behind us gangus..

also, the venerable Mehran/800 here.. what a legendary car.. masses ko lagvaya chaska car ownership ka, big upgrade from what we had here "fiat and ambassador"

industry bhi build ho gi.. tamaam mukhtalif type ke ancillary product makers ki bhi chandi hui saath me ...

aap log Cheenion ki jakad me kuch zyada hi aa ge ho.. and vo harami keeda khau log full mazey le rahe, laughing all the way to the bank.

there is no reason why there should not be a thriving local and supporting industry making cars and bikes in Pak.

baat to sahi kri aapnay, but fir bhi

but hum apnay bacchon ko bhi toh samjhate hain.. ki kisi uncle ne school ke bhar lollypop and ice cream khreedna shuru kari dia.. aisey logon se bach ke rho

and tbph.. India ka bhi ho raha hai, but much smaller scale pe

"dushmani" lafz tojh aap logon ke lye reserved hai..man, trade based lafda hai west ka with China, not so much with regional countries.. tough scene, Pak wants to break out, lots of people there have had it with the west... others are (understandably) risk averse of taking the plunge and going China full on.

Kudos to China, though, they have done exceptionally well.. seen myself, and know many who are doing trade with them

baaki, gets a bit too complicated, given all the differences.. half of me wants an unelected dictatorship that gets things done "git 'er done" efficient and brutal (if need be govmint)

but other half says ultimate power should be with the majority of people, most of you don't like them ? .. vote and throw them out.

most critical and military etc programs will continue unimpeded, but governments will be either liberal or conservative in how they feel public money should be spent.. welfare programs or a shiny (or dark, black as hell) new SSBN ? ;)

In America and India, respectively.. the "oldest" and "largest" democracies, people don't really have a say in the most critical things. In China, USSRussia, DPRK people don't have a say in ANYTHING.

im 50/50 on it

tum sab bc ek doosray pe bum girao and saarey mar jao shrapnel damage and burns etc se
