Agonistic Muslim, there is simply no way a scientist would have been able to do quarter as much as he did without government support. Please dont kid yourself saying that this is just a lone individuals work. AQ Khan was made a scapegoat when he should be considered a hero for Pakistan.
Perhaps, but until you can actually substantiate that claim with some sort of evidence, it is nothing but opinion. It is a very simplistic analysis as well, completely ignoring the security clearances, authority and independence that AQ Khan had, or what motivations Pakistan had, or advantages it could have gained, from selling nuclear tech to Iran, NK, and Libya.
The Americans pointed out AQ Khan as the head of the "proliferation ring", no one else. The pakistani government investigated the whole episode and the guy confessed that he did it without state approval. What investigation and evidence can you point to that can counter that of the pakistani government, and more importantly, counter the confession of the accused? From an Indian perspective it might be better to think that the Pakistan establishment was in on it, but conjecture and circumstantial arguments do not prove guilt.
