What's new

Pak-Saudi joint exercises - Shahab 2 in Saudi Arabia begins

We have? Not really, Gen Raheel went there in his personal capacity as a retired officer.

We haven't jumped in any Saudi or Iran led wars... We have always presented ourselves as mediators not instigators.

We have also requested Iran be part of this alliance else it would be tainted by sectarianism...

We have maintained that we will not join any sectarian conflict.

We have announced no soldier's, military assets for this alliance...

The so called alliance itself is nowhere on ground..
We haven't announced anything publicly yet but watch it'll come. Just wait and watch. Don't know why you're so concerned anyway. Not like Iran's a friendly country.

Is it?

Because Pak wouldn't be making another enemy... That too a neighbour for the sake of sectarianism...

Pak-Iran ties arent the friendliest but they are warmer than you might want...
Well I don't want any conflict between Pakistan and Iran but geopolitics is bigger than what we may feel right now. Global powers are at play here.

Because I'm not stupid.. And I don't want Pak to jump into Saudi Iranian sectarian fukery..

As for wait... How long has been since this alliance was formed/announced ? Anything on ground.. Any govt or army statement or actions suggesting anti Iranian posture?

Yes, we ain't beat buddies... But we aren't enemies either... In fact govt is buying electricity from Iran... Pipeline and offering CPEC to them..

Pakistan itself is a regional power... All it needs to do is stand up on its own feet.
. And we have taken quiet a few actions suggesting that...

Had it been pmlns decision we would have already jumped in the Yemeni or Syrian conflict to please Saudis...

It's the army that isn't interested.. Neither are any opposition parties like PPP, PTI etc.

Look all I am saying is that we have made a clear cut commitment to the military alliance with Saudi Arabia. Do you honestly in your right mind think that this isn't against Iran especially with the recent statements being sent out by the Monarchy? And I am 100% agreeing with you that Pakistan should avoid jumping into this sectarian conflict. But there are bigger players at play here. We don't have a choice.

Our commitment is to protect Saudi holylands or their sovereignity at Max... Not to be canon fodder for their secterian wars with Iran.

2 years have passed.

Pro Saudi govt is getting thrashed and won't be able to make a govt in the next elections... The army is not interested... Neither is the country..

A poor attempt to make it look like as if the military alliance recently announced is not against them.

Attempt=Balancing act
Poor or Not, Time will tell...Here Basic theme is not to get involved in a sectarian conflict and remain friendly with both sides. My whole point and other posters as well..

Well with the recent announcement of the military alliance against Shia's and the increasing military cooperation between SA and Pak I think it is obvious to everyone that we have well and truly chosen a side here. Guess it was inevitable. Hopefully we milk the Wahabbi's to maximum potential. At least in terms of money and not their ideology.

the alliance doesn't appear to be against any school of thought but generally against terrorism.
It just happens to be a coincidence that mullahs of Qom are active promoters of state with in a state by means of terrorism.

Take your sectarianism somewhere else.

Pointing out the obvious is sectarianism? Pointing out the fact that sky is blue is just a statement of fact.

No. I don't want us to go with Iran. Saudi is a better option.
No you didn't point out facts. You need to read what you wrote
