PM says Pakistan not engaged in arms race with any country

KAHUTA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Friday that Pakistan was not engaged in an arms race with any country.

After receiving a briefing from DG National Command and Control Authority, Prime Minister Sharif remarked that Pakistan believed in maintaining minimum deterrence.

The prime minister added that the country’s nuclear assets were safe as he stressed that Pakistan was a peaceful atomic country.

Prime Minister Sharif also expressed confidence in the fool proof security of Pakistan’s defence assets.

If Pakistan wants to engage in Arms race in the Indian sub-continent- it is most welcomed as it is a nuclear power.Pakistan has a relationship with America and China for latest weapons purchases.With China,Pakistan has a relationship sweeter than honey-as a result has received nuclear bombs,latest air, land and naval assets from China. Yes they printed more PKR in just three months than it was used to be printed in one whole year during previous government.It has resulted in devaluation of Pakistani rupees.

The Prime Minister also visited a weapons storage site.
He reiterated that Pakistan wants peace in the region and was not involved in any arms race. PM further said that Pakistan’s strategic capability was based on the policy of credible minimum deterrence.
