Pak-Iran gas pipeline to violate sanctions: US

It is not that difficult to find international news to say what those economists believe: That China is a currency manipulator.

but it is difficult to stomach the fact that on the G-20 summit America had no backing on the issue because they have done exactly what they are trying to accuse people of. Valuating (manipulating) the dollars and hurting economies around the world. Some are still having a hard time coping with the recession America gave them.

Heck, if Iranians wanted, they can even sell gas for rocks you pickup along the seaside too!
You don't always have to put a coin in for a token in order to swap it for an item :azn:

Yet the cannot convert their oil and gas into useable fuel? Rocks don't set up refinaries hard cash does and certainly not YAWN, otherwise they would not be importers of petrol would they be? You stand exposed once again.

I already have. It is a purely politically motivated decision. Not a technically valid one.

LOL, so what is the point if they refuse to do anything about it?

How can you blame us for our currency policy, when even your own government is openly declaring that we are not currency manipulators?

You should write a letter to your Congressman.

CPC really does a good job on you guys

Pakistan takes $5bn IMF bail-out after allies refuse funds | World news | The Guardian

The IMF confirmed yesterday that Pakistan had sought funds to meet balance of payments difficulties. It is expected to provide $5bn (about £3bn) or more for the coming year, with billions more for subsequent years.

Pakistan's finance minister, Shaukat Tareen, said recently that going to the IMF was his "plan C", but Islamabad has been stung by rebuffs from its closest international partners - China, the US and Saudi Arabia - leaving it with few choices.

Is that the way your regime tought you to argue? by citing old posts? common now. It's not 2008 anymore

That just goes to show how limited is your thinking. So much for that supposedly 'high Chinese IQ'.

This is what happens when you lose an argument, you go into ad hominem territory.

Anyway, the US Treasury has declared that we are not currency manipulators, and you guys found that the G-20 was unwilling to help you with that either.

So the status quo stays, as usual.

Nothing wrong with Yuan. It value is increasing and no one can say the same about the American dollars. Tell the Russians that and they'd spit out their vodka laughing! They are selling gas to China and is accepting the Yuan, you have problems with that?

Sure thing...

America and China: Is China a currency manipulator? | The Economist
President Obama's administration has already passed on two opportunities to label China a currency manipulator, out of a well-founded fear of sparking a trade war.
What argument is there to 'lose' when the argument that the refusal to label China as a currency manipulator is in contrary of evidences out of political considerations.

Yes that is a strong possiblity but once the present UN sanctions are there cross border trades can become impossible. For instance the next entity to be banned after Bank of Iran would be Bank of Pakistan. We do not need a UN ban but we just the Fed, ECB and Bank of England to withdraw the permission to Bank of Pakistan in holding these currencies.
That's a pretty wild hallucination, and the reaction and response to such an absurd action would be equally wild strategically and politically. Do you think US would ever isolate an entire region so blindly? and that too a country like Pakistan? US would have a lot to lose than gain from it.

Secondly, even if there were to be sanctions, Pakistan's economy wouldn't have much to lose, because the energy deals would be worth much more than our total exports to the US. energy deals are running in 10s of billions whereas total export to the US is what...like $300mil? Therefore, the energy deal is worth a lot more b/c it would literally fire start the economy n industrial base.

Thirdly, you make it sound like the US owns the British pound and the Bank of England will accept your dictate at whim.

I dont know whether to laugh or cry at your naive assumptions.

no matter what the internet warrior has to say about this pipeline- the fact is - pakistan won't go ahead with this since US is saying so. so this discussion is meaningless - rest is your choice.
Given the amount of anti-US sentiment there is in Pakistan at the moment, it would be a political suicide for any party to cancel the Iranian pipeline project. Zardari's govn't is probably the most pro-US government in the history of Pak, and it's not gonna get any better but worse in the future.

Also, there's a civil military consensus behind the energy deals, the Army is backing it. I believe Musharaf was the one who initiated these with calculations, therefore i dont think the military establishment is going to compromise.

Ah, a source. :D And from the Economist as well, thank you.

Now let me quote to you, from that very same Economist article:

America and China: Is China a currency manipulator? | The Economist

But as the chart below suggests, the recent relationship between China's currency and America's trade deficit with China is not what China hawks in the Senate think it is.

Rather than a cheap yuan leading to a flood of Chinese imports, the yuan has actually strengthened as the deficit has widened.

As you can see from the Economist's own chart, the Yuan has actually strengthened consistently against the dollar for the past several years. Read the quote from the article.

Guys...can we GET BACK ON THE TOPIC PLEASE??

Take your Asian PEE CONTESTS in another thread.

Can we get a Mod here to clean the floor please?

Thanks

Believe me when I say Zardari is only doing this because he wants to keep his political party standing and not screw off.
