this is not hospitality. it is the standard procedure. these aman-ki-asha clowns are pathetic. Have they forgotten about hospitality that the Pakis showed to Lt Saurabh and 6 other men of his team when Kargil war hadn't even started and rest of Indian POWs including pilots after that ?

u r right we should treat like how french treat indians u guys only deserve humiliation i guess thus u recieve the same Remember how Indian passengers were stranded at a run down terminal of a french airport (for over 24 hours without basic supplies) despite having paid for tickets? Imagine France giving 125 passengers interim visas? yeah, that would definitely not happen either. for once, be grateful for how the situation has been handled. despite having such serious tensions between our countries, Pakistanis (as usual) have extended a hand in friendship.

Do not spoil the tenor of the thread. Pakistan has indeed shown a great gesture. But Fedex is also right in saying this is an Internatioinal standard procedure and any other country would have treated any other air passengers like that only in similar situation. Why it is that when Pakistan does that, it becomes news?? Point to think over.

& idiot there is only rule tht u allow the plane to land safely there is no rule of entertaining the ppl with great food, offering visas, arranging doctors for treatments (although mental treatment should be given).

As an observer of the sub-continent I have a few questions: 1. How did the Indian Captain of the aircraft communicate with Pakistani Air Traffic Control (or whatever passes for it). We know there is a language problem, because westerners operating in Pakistan need interpreters. The Indians speak Hindi which the Pakistanis do not (they speak Pashtu/Sindhi). So how did they communicate? It is unlikely the Captain of the aircraft had a Sindhi interpreter on board. 2. How did the airliner land on the air strip in the night without any Instrument Landing System or air traffic control (Note; the base is defunct)?. Who switched the runway lights on, if at all they were switched on. Even in normal times the functioning Pakistani "bases" have a 70 year vintage "control" system operated by illiterate towel headed goat herders who cannot differentiate between a crow and an airliner. The Pakistani air space is the biggest joke of all. 4. Pakistan has a defunct air control system , which is a legacy of the 30's era British Empire Frontier bases. Pakistan has no radar, no radio communication, command center, monitoring or air traffic control. The Indian planes could have flown in immediately to pick-up the passengers. Why was any permission needed from the Pakistani "Civil Aviation" authorities when there is none and WHY the 12 hour wait? What we would have done is to fly in a dozen helicopter gun ships ; we would have used Blackhawks but I guess India would have used Mi-25s packed with commandos. Escorted by F-18/Su-30 MKII fighter jets the strike force could have taken control of the air base, and then the next wave would have brought in An-22s with more troops.The An-22s would remove the passengers from the defective air craft and the relief crew would have flown out the plane. The troops and commandos could have leveled the base, also eliminated the remaining Pakistani personnel on there. Only the runway would be left intact to allow the remaining An-22s to get away but the Su-30s would return to punch a few craters in the runway. Scratch one Pakistani Air Base !!!! Actually its not that difficult The Pakistanis have very little idea of what's going in in the air. Penetrating Pakistani Air Space is a cream puff. Trust us WE KNOW......!!!!
