That junk has always been popular in Pakistan we read that even in the 80s even during Zia era VCRs and Indian movies were here.

Before that in the 70s and earlier we hear and read that Pakistani movies were one of the classic ones and were competing with old indian ones but with passage of time the professional producers left and every gama cheems halwai jumped into film making here in Pakistan so you can understand what will be the standard of movies here.

Seriously I dont understand how can Indians watch them with there families, I downloaded that 3 Idiot once so that I cud watch it with my family, after watching alittle my mom shuted it down and blackmailed me that she will take away my laptop if I downloaded such stuff again, that was practically the worst day of my life

I mean if we have to watch a movie alone, then its more like time passing then entertainment, what wud be the difference between a porno and a movie?? dont take negatively

That junk is popular in public because of the fact that many Pakistanis do read and write English but when it comes to listening and Speaking they are not that good. Things are changing now but in 70s 80s you can imagine. So instead of buying a good english movie they go for Indian or Pakistani. As there were not many Pakistani movies so they went for Indian.

Ever wondered why not many in Pakistan dont even know about Godfather but if you ask them 007 or Rambo ...Ohh yeah they are the big fans. Because Rambo and 007 type movies you can understand the story even if you dont know good english. Besides most people are interested in Rambo blowing up tank with an arrow.

On the other hand Godfather good movie (At least men like it). Lot of talking in it. Oscar Winner movie. But understanding english is must.

So thats the reason Indian Movies are famous here. If you really watch Indian songs by muting the tv. You'll ROFL by looking at their dances.....

i have read the Novel Godfather when i was in 5th grade its really thrilling to switch between different themes in the novel from drug mafia to the soft emotional relations to other stuff.

I dont know about others but whenever i am sad or feeling lonely i go for horror, action and sometimes themetic English Movies.


These Urdu movies be it even Indian ones i cant stand their same old trio and unrealistic dreamworld

Banning is not a solution here.There are millions of Pakistanis who love watching bollywood movies.I was in Qatar when Ravan got released and there were around 50 Pakistanis in the movie theater,some even with their families.It is OK to ban movies which might hurt the sentiments of a particular community.But banning everything is bad.

old Indian movies have a lot of stereotyping and exaggerated melodrama....but these days Indian movies are tending to introduce innovative plot lines....also rather than song and dance sequences we are slowly developing background singing together with reflective scenes on screen......and if you read Godfather you should watch the movie Sarkar .....a great artistic depiction of the mafia storyline........

Pakistani filmmakers up in arms is their problem, but there is definitely something in the song-dance-pyaar-routine that is a big attraction everywhere. Cliched yes..Boring no!

You will not believe this but the many gora students would be full fida on DDLJ..or the university's union theater would be filled with them when Indian movies were shown. How can somebody explain how Rajnikanth has fans in japan or Sharuk in Germany..Indian movies are definitely entertaining and there are many good movies that do come out ..just like in any other film industries..not all Hollywood movies are watchable..

3 idiots is a real comedy movie.....there is no way it has any objectionable scene at all especially if you consider any regular hollywood flick.....in fact by hollywood standards it can be rated U ( for kids).........

Melodrama is surely still a part of Indian Pakistani movies but seriously these days These movies from both countries are going even cheaper than the cheapest level. The Old movies no matter how much having melodrama were still having some realistic touch which is absent these days.

The only Indian movie in which I wasted money and was worth watching was Tare Zameen Par and there are lot more Indians then Pakistani who download movies via ******** or rapid share dont be so naive
