there is a rumour going on for the last couple of years that PN might be working on sub nuclear reactor. i am sure naval cheif coming with out with bigger platforms might address what we have been hearing. again a speculation but i think speculation in right direction..

if that is the direction PN is taking then i am sure PN will be thinking about nuke subs with Vertical laucnh Ballistic missile capability as a third tier strike capability.

if speculations are put to rest then local manucaturing of Yuan class subs might be in considerance.

I am sure with this statment navy chief is pointing out the manufacturing of destroyers locally at karachi shipping yard with help of chinese...

Hopefully PN will be able to take quantum advantage with true chinese friends who have taken care of pakistan at every moment of her existence...

its is not just that the new rank U214 highly so we are supporting it.
in first place, it is the one thatt was selected by PN.
secondly, a big plus the the turkish involvement in the program. they are also going for these subs with lots of indegenious systems and that surely can be or great help.

only other option that comes to my mind is to let the Turkish get theres and then seek there help in mmodifying chines sub option so as to bring them on par!!

I am bit curious want to know

Why it is so necessary to have U-214 in our fleet?

Why we do not make any more Augusta 90B as we have its technology available?

Is there any possibility we share our technological Know how of subs with chines and start design new sub which could fix our problems (like JF-17) rather then to go with any of the existing chines subs?

I would appreciate if any senior member could explain throughly.

China has a long way to go in defence goods quality. However we should seek to expand collaboration to build our own base rather than depending on imports. Forigens goods can be purchased in small quantity then reverse engineered with Chinese help.

while dealing with china it is the added advantage.
we almost get ToT for anything we want to..
this is helpfull in building our own industry and infrastructure and is an important step on road of self reliance.
