Pak China cooperation in building submarines & bigger warships

BEIJING, Sept 19 (APP): After successful completion of construction of three F-22 P Frigates in China, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir said that Pakistan has identified to China the cooperation in the field of construction of submarine, bigger war ships, acquiring modern weapons and equipments. “We have the history of cooperation in the Navy with China like we have cooperation in all other fields”, said Noman Bashir while talking to media here at a reception on Saturday evening in which Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khan was also present.

The CNS said that Pakistan Navy has already taken over three Frigates and the fourth one is being constructed with Chinese cooperation in Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works and hoped that like the three frigates, the construction of fourth ship in Karachi will be completed ahead of schedule.
“ We will not stop here and this cooperation will continue”, said Admiral Noman Bashir while replying to a question.
He said that during his meetings with Chinese side, he had identified areas including building of submarines, as so far we had not entered into joint construction of submarines.
This is one of areas Pakistan would now like to explore, he noted.
He said that Pakistan also like to go for construction of bigger ships with cooperation of China.
These ships would be bigger than the current F-22 P Frigates, he added.
There is lot of discussion that are taking place, he said adding “obviously we will have the ships and submarines which will be according to our requirements and specifications”.
Also, the CNS said that in the areas of weapons and sensors we are going beyond what we had.
On floods in Pakistan and Chinese relief assistance, Admiral Noman Bashir said that we are grateful to the government and the people of China for their timely assistance for the flood affected people.
He said that the Chinese Medical team is doing an excellent job and Pakistan Navy has taken the responsibility to look after them.
He said that before coming here he went to the Chinese Mobile Hospital which was established in Thatta and they were doing remarkable job.
In addition to medical team and hospital, there was lot of flood relief supplies we received from China.
Flood had caused great deal of damage in Pakistan, said Admiral Noman Bashir adding that these unprecedented floods we did not experience in our history.
The floods are not confined to one part of the country, but caused widespread damage from north to south, he added.

becoz they just talk and do nothing since 2004 what they have done other than wasting millions on visits our naval air fleet is 30 years old no helicopter other than chinese Z 9 which you have to buy for chinese frigates

It's a good news. We must cooperate with our chinese friends in this field as currently we lack in submarines and looking at diffrent plateforms like U boats and french stuff. A joint venture in this field will help boost our navy.

I'm of the idea that we must acquire western stuff and also do joint venture with China. A mix of all this will really help us in long term situations as only buying western stuff without any indigenous programm will harm our national interests in the future.

Our navy is doing according to resources (our budget) what we have and also they are not putting burden on our economy for this defence deals.....They are doing and going well so far.

yes what a budget for 6 years we dont have budget to buy one ship where are the naval funds for last 6 years if you take naval budget of last 6 years they could easily have got few ships and subs for sure

PLAN just booked 4 destroyer (052c+) and 4 frigate (054A) and 1 071 class LPD. With current order(054A 2/SSK ??), I am sure all fictory is quite busy at the moment. The news should be about 5 year plan or similar things.

Bro! plz dont be so much frustrated...We understand what u mean by that. If we throw light on our progress since 1947 then Alhamdolillah we have achieved excellent in all fields. and thanx to Allah sbwt that he brought us in the top ten mostt advanced technological countries in the field of defence...Inshallah our future is very bright...and u will be amazed what we r going to achieve in the next 5 to 10 yearz. Alhamdolillah we r going slowly but steadily.....insha-Allah we r going to make impossible as possible...

yes, we have been hearing about this cooperation in Submarine sector of navy for quite some time now.

the chines also have some goodies to offer in this field but for time being, i guess PN should keep pushing for U214 deal. that really is the best in the world right now and later on we can increase number of fleet and support the three U214 by additional chines subs!

it is not that i am under estimating the potentail of hines subs but sure cannot take away crdit from gremans to be the best in this department!

there is a rumour going on for the last couple of years that PN might be working on sub nuclear reactor. i am sure naval cheif coming with out with bigger platforms might address what we have been hearing. again a speculation but i think speculation in right direction..

if that is the direction PN is taking then i am sure PN will be thinking about nuke subs with Vertical laucnh Ballistic missile capability as a third tier strike capability.

if speculations are put to rest then local manucaturing of Yuan class subs might be in considerance.

I am sure with this statment navy chief is pointing out the manufacturing of destroyers locally at karachi shipping yard with help of chinese...

Hopefully PN will be able to take quantum advantage with true chinese friends who have taken care of pakistan at every moment of her existence...
