Pak Army moves heavy artillery at border to ‘shock’ Afghanistan

The incursion would have made sense the first day of attacks when the Kabul leadership was scurrying to figure out a response

Now thr pressure has been applied both from US and European nations that our actions wont be tolerated; the establishment has backed off with our chief giving the sheepish statement of working with the Afghanis to tackle this

NOTE: this does not reflect on the character of the chief or his performance but simply at a lost opportunity and lack of conviction from ththe federal government to back up such activities as they have their own reasons for avoiding conflict
US is in disarray. Europe is struggling with Brexit and Greece part IV. Doubt they are a factor. They no longer have any levers.

Incursion is still possible, the only question is, would it be necessary? If artillery and air strikes have not pummeled the infrastructure across the border enough to restrict further attacks only then is an incursion likely:

NATO is in turmoil they've been f ucking around everywhere from libya to Iraq to ukraine and syria,UK is scrambling in wake of brexit ,trump is pissing of all his allies they are stretched thin in so many battle fronts, economically and internal political distractions - If they were capable to do anything they would have attacked us and probably Iran too long ago. I'm actually anti-war but I have been advocating for the annexation of wakhan corridor for years to teach afghanistan a lesson we have humiliated them in every border conflict which they always started and gained nothing from the trouble . I say f uck it take it and take the spoils of war and all plus will give us direct access to tajikistan and rest of central asia. Wakhan corridor is ripe for the taking . I think Pakistan could do it with just few hundred troops.

What would happen if ANA or NATO decided to cut off the return route home? We could have troops stranded behind enemy lines. It could get very ugly very quick. All NATO would have to do is provide cover and let their favourite band of terrorists do the rest. Its a dangerous propositions to cross into enemy territory, you have to have a contingency plan that may involve and invasion to retrieve soldiers. Tricky.

.
PA already have M-198s (155mm) guns there, whats new? UCAVs with heliborn SSG & gunships covered by PAF is better option for accurate and decisive action against terror camps and their hide outs.

Pakistan need to deploy CH-5 class UCAVs for Continous armed reconnesense / survellence to take out target of opertunity.
Does Pak have CH-5? And how many?

There may be disarray at the top; but the systems still work
Brexit and european foriegn policy in afghan issues is irrelevant

Outside pressure made our establishment tone it down and that is the opinion I stick to

No need to going on grounds just keep artillary shelling and use z10 and burraq

How can they cut us off ? it's a panhandle to them but a long border to us . It's the complete opposite in reality- it's the afghans who are under extreme strategic threat due to geographical disadvantage and risk being completely cut off and losing the corridor to a possible pakistani annexing if we decide launch even a very small incursion. All Pakistan has to do push in 8 miles in at it's narrow choke point which is their only connection and it's detached from the rest of Afghanistan then just simply consolidate the rest. It's extremely easy for us population there is only around 10,000 nothing compared to Pakistan's 205 million strong and we can give them pakistani nationality or they can have option to return to Afghanistan millions of them want to come to Pak anyway . We should exploit our strengths and opportunities and this ideal time of turmoil in the west and border conflict with Afghanistan can give us a prime excuse and suitable cover to do it.

if we do take this area it will also give us direct access to central Asian states for trade and other opportunities.

I think they serve a more threatening purpose. I have mentioned that Drone strikes(For targeted killing of terrorist leaders) and Airstrikes are more effective in another thread.
Guided shells must be used as much as possible because Pakistan will have to face the consequences (including Indian trolling here) if a shell accidently landed on a school or hospital
Nothing could have been more threatening than air strikes, but Army leadership got cold feet against foreign threats. Had no hope from panama entangled NS govt, there is no chance for a policy coming from political govt.
Dragging on is bad.

which caliber is considered heavy.
what is medium and what is light.
can anybody define plz
105mm is light.
122mm and 155mm are medium.
203mm is heavy.

130mm is field and can be considered medium.

Dont go on journalist report of "heavy artillery". They can call any artillery gun as heavy.

Ready, set & unleash Hell.

f-16-fighting-falcon_010-ts600.jpg
artillery is cheaper to operate and can pack more punch than F-16 when entire regiment of 18 guns pound an area continuously.

A great move!! Almost creating a buffer zone. With Hakiki Afgan folks lurking in the background, it requires no Von Clausewitz to fathom who's gonna fill the vacuum. So pro-Pak folks will be empowered to be in control of vital transactions vis-a-vis Pak. Directly from the playbooks of 19th century European statesmen. Let's see what're the counter moves from Modi the Melun and Doval the Devil [they are no Aryan-originated highest class Brahmins or Parsis, rather Dravidian low castes]......
