PAF to build AESA Radars

To be honest, develop a AESA radar its required 100 thousand of experiments and as well budget. I am Pakistani i can't say this "yes Pakistan can build this". If pakistan start today so it will take 10 - 15 years to develop a radar. To become a professional it takes 20 years. Its not a halwa. xD
T/R units can be imported from China, and the final assembly done in Pakistan. That'll save you a lot of leg work.

We would like to have the GaN fabrication technology in-house so we can advance further on the technological curve. Putting more work is OK, the resulting learning is well worth it.

He means that whomever they select will have to give offset so that the assembly is done in KARF. This has been done before for Grifo series, and for all of JF17 current avionics.

DRDO L-STAR (AESA based airborne early warning system )

DRDO uttam - AESA for HAL tejas .

Kit assemblies and offset.

Pakistan making an advanced AESA radar huh!!! ... Even. Chinese have difficultys in making the radar by itself

China has assistance from Israel, their own programs, and borrowing tech. Their systems will soon outnumber the rest.

Making a escan is not a problem. Its the characterization and environmental and platform qualification. That takes years, and with a dedicated test bed and far field range.

Sir, with what we have already at PAC, are we in a position to create new types of phased array radars for other services or we only replicate existing designs on an assembly line? In general, are we self sufficient in designing and developing military grade PCBs? Because then the next frontier for us should be chip design and fabrication.

Either way I answer your question, it will give away too much.

There is nothing that you can reveal that manufacturers have not already revealed, its common practice for manufacturers to have detailed brochures about radars.

A radar is not rocket science. Pakistan never invested in far field ranges which can test antennas. Without that, antennas cannot be truly tested, hence we dont have local radars.

Is that why only a handful of countries can built radars from scratch yet many can built rockets?

Don't expect North Korea to be building AESA radars anytime soon without heavy industrial espionage.

The question was about PAC, not manufacturers.

Indengioys Aesa radar technology is out of reach for 99%.of the world's Air Forces.

Only Usa snd France have full functional aesa radar.

The likes of Israel China snd Russia are getting close to inducting their own versions

I doubt anybody will share this Tech with Pakistan to license build aesa .

You can buy it but license assembly I doubt it

Thank you sir, but words are not reliable compare to our ACM.Don't you agree?

sound like Vixen or may be Raven AESA is coming home with the help of Leonardo SPA, back in 90s Finmeccanica AKA Leonardo provided Grifo-7 and Grifo-M radars for PAF F-7s and Mirages and now ... AESA :woot:

Famous Last words. Never underestimate the resolve of Pakistanis.

Sir,
You are quite wrong when you say Indian AESA radars are "Kit assemblies and offset" ....These are not just the ones There are 4-5 types of AESA radar system were made ....and some are underdevelopment....you can easily look up some of them

Resolve is irrelevant

Nobody gives up cutting edge technology

You can buy aesa radar but you will pay millions per unit with out tot

Simple business

Just like India is learning this on Fgfa programme

Really nice that Pakistan is developing technology using our own talent. Research and Development programs in our academic curriculum are necessary to encourage Pakistani youth to build innovative skills rather than just to find a job based on a degree. Our youth has immense talent that needs to be polished by fine institutions that encourage them to carry out advanced research. Reputable space and astronomical research institutions need to be developed like those related to nuclear research in Pakistan.

Do you think getting AESA technology is more difficult than getting nuke technology. We got the the latter and we will get AESA too. Resolve does matter.
