PAF Squadrons - re(naming) Petition

We should also shy away from already in use names of squadrons in other countries.
For two word name, Tail Choppers, Sharp Shooters and Globe Trotters are all amazing name so I would not discount compound words for names.
We also have army aviation squadrons named Air Wolves and Desert Hawks so staying away from more wolves and hawks might be a good option.

Why don't we have a squadron named Shaheens btw? We also don't have Ukaabs ... both hanker back to Iqbal and his poetry.

PS, can we name a UAV squadron Tiddis ... locust swarm incoming haha

Kraits is also a species of snakes found in Pakistan and would be a good name for new attack helicopter squadrons for the Army. Similarly, Muggers (short form of Mugger Macch - crocodiles) perhaps.

Instead of reapers/ghosts/devils, we could have Bhoots ... similar concept.

If memory serves, I think it was I who spoke that we should focus on the 5 Pillars of Islam.

And, no offense, but we aren't exactly a model nation when it comes to Islam. Our Politicians are liars, corrupt, thieves and the buck doesn't stop there. If you're going to attempt to sell me the narrative that all Pakistanis are saints, honest and have the complete knowledge of Islam and practice it - you've already lost your argument. We are not perfect. So if you're trying to pass off by saying that we are better than Arabs, than you are delusional.

Do you take interest in the names when new Sodas come out? How about the Cooking Oil or toothpaste? Why aren't those products given the same attention and treatment the Military seems to be getting?

We are just exploring names that could be.... PAF has not announced it that they are looking for new names of Squadrons.

Clearly, religion is always brought in...when it's suited.

First of all i am not pointing at anyone leave aside yourself. If i used the phrase "you will also" it dosent mean i am pointing you but to everyone including myself. So dont take it personally.
Well I passed my opinion on the post in which another poster said that we dont have any relation with Islamic Heroes who were Arabs or Turks or Central Asians. Islam is not for Arabs only, Islam is for whole of humanity so Islamic heros are of whole of Umaah, no one can have sole ownership of early Muslims Heros, Like Sahabas and other Islamic heros. Even Arabs cannot own them as Arab themselves have different tribes and clans and only few may be belongs to Bani Hashim and may be litter more belongs to Qureish. Other Arab tribes does not share any relation with Quraish. So how can Arab ruler or even Arab population in general can own early muslim heros? So the narrative died here that we cannot own early Muslim Arab heros.

Secondly on your comment, i agree with you but not entirely. I cannot say we are better muslims than arabs or arabs are better muslim than ours but action tells who is following the right path and who is going entirely on different path. And what i mean to say is if i see majority doing wrong things, is that justifiable for me also that i have to follow them or i have to stick to the right way of life? So if someone is doing wrong deeds then atlease we personally try our level best to follow the right path and these efforts starts from individual. Now I have a question for you, If Arabs follows Jews and they are not leave any stone unturned for their own destruction, then should we follow them or we have to resist as much as we can and strive to put a fight in our limited resources against all odds?

And not all Arabs are good not all Pakistanis are bad and vice versa. And i am not the one who brough religion in when suited but i try my level best to keep religion in every matter and in every field of life.

It was a mistake renaming Islamabad's old Airport. Let's not name anything in Military after anyone from PML-N or PPP.

Better yet, let's not name anyone from a political past.

Currently flying the F-35 (previously F-14 and F-18).

Plus its basically Death holding a Scythe.

That was the trend with many original names being borrowed from the RAF nicknames & USAF squadron tags.
Perhaps not completely original(neither was the pilot mustache) but reflected where the ideals(in terms of performance) being looked up to were
