Yes it does... if you have a hybrid system like the JF17 Block 1/2 consisting of flybywire and hydralic then you need a large central column like JF17 does.

If you have a fully digital 3-axis fbw then you can make a "design" decision to have a full central stick, or a small central stick like the EF2000, or a side stick like the F16... A fully digital 3-axis fbw gives you options and it is now an option that the JF17 Block III has - so the question remains. Now that the JF17 BIII has fully digital 3-axis fbw, did they decide to adopt a side stick, or a small central stick - ergo - dumped the large central stick since that part of the system had to be redesigned for the fully digital 3-axis fbw.

PAF rethinking high-low mix
The news of possible induction of J-10C has prompted debate whether Pakistan requires another advanced jet along with the rollout of the locally developed capable JF-17 Block III fighter jet. Air Commodore Kaiser Tufail, a former pilot who has flown all PAF fighter jets until 2005 when he retired after 30 years of service, explained the reason for acquiring both aircraft.

J-10C should not be consider High in high low mix. J-10c should be classified somewhere middle of high and low. Stealth is usually classified as High and there should be another category of special purpose or mission aircraft. Which frankly countries don’t expose until they are used for specific missions. I agree in the long term J10C will fall in the middle, as of now it will be at the High end.

Their is no small or large central stick, our mirages and your EF2000 have very similar central control columns (I MEANS LARGE CONTROL COLUMNS)
only side stick control columns are smaller than CENTRAL STICK COLUMNS

An aircraft which incorporates all the latest gadgets and is able to fire the longest BVR missile on record can surely be considered on the high end of capabilities.

A better question is would PAF even want to upgrade BLK1 to BLK3?

PAF may decide to bring BLK1 to BLK2 standard when they are due for mid-life upgrades. Not all Jf-17 need to be BLK3.
