Side stick controls are nothing to do with 3 axis FBW, EF2000 uses 3 axis FBW but still use central stick controls
Yes it does... if you have a hybrid system like the JF17 Block 1/2 consisting of flybywire and hydralic then you need a large central column like JF17 does.
If you have a fully digital 3-axis fbw then you can make a "design" decision to have a full central stick, or a small central stick like the EF2000, or a side stick like the F16... A fully digital 3-axis fbw gives you options and it is now an option that the JF17 Block III has - so the question remains. Now that the JF17 BIII has fully digital 3-axis fbw, did they decide to adopt a side stick, or a small central stick - ergo - dumped the large central stick since that part of the system had to be redesigned for the fully digital 3-axis fbw.
